There's a whole lot of people in trouble tonight from the disease of conceit Whole lot of people seeing trouble tonight from the disease of conceit Give you delusions of grandeur and an evil eye Give you the idea that you're too good to die The they bury you from head to your feet From the disease of conceit ‘Disease of Conceit’ Bob Dylan

‘UNDERCOVER’ seems to be the so-called ‘second tier’ entry I happen to listen to most often. Not a big fan of ‘Emotional Rescue’, ‘Tattoo You’, ‘Voodoo Lounge’, ‘Bridges to Babylon’, or ‘Steel Wheels’...although there are bits and pieces from those releases that do have some appeal. And when I’m in the mood for some ‘old’...or should I say ‘early’...Stones, any of their works from the ‘60s wit

Liotta was epic in ‘Goodfellas’; also gave a powerful performance in ‘Narc’. Such a shame...67 is much too young.

QuoteHairball I prefer to think of his solos these days as poetic trainwrecks...they still have some of the Keith essence, but it's all very ramshackle for lack of a better term... Much like his vocals...

Gutted...crushed...shocked...devastated...so sad. I was concerned when it was announced Charlie would not be part of the upcoming tour but this was unexpected and caught me completely off guard. Don't know what else to say except that the great man has been an important part of my life for the past 55+ years and I offer my heartfelt condolonces to each and every one of you who are grievin

Quotedcba QuoteTornAndFried Charlie COULD do it but he won't. They have a week off in the middle of the tour so theoretically they could do a few rehearsals with him and finish the rest of the shows but if he's committed to resting and recuperating after his surgery, that is what he is gonna do. Or he could join the tour mid-way play a few songs each night get a roaring wave of ac

Big question in NE is "Will Mac Jones eventually take over for Cam Newton as the starter...and, if so, when?" I expect Cam to be much better than last season...it would be difficult to not be, given this year's full training camp and the upgraded offensive weapons at his disposal...but wouldn't be surprised to see Jones given a shot if the Patriots stumble out of the gate.

In looking at the photo of Charlie and wife Shirley...taken in May 2020...that's posted in the 'Charlie Adopts Greyhound' thread, that's the most frail I've seen him in recent years. Granted, it may not be the most flattering shot, but I can't help but feel concern for his current health status and how serious this mystery ailment might be. With no definitive insi

Not going to peruse some 13 pages of posts to see if his name has already been brought up but does anyone feel that ex-Faces drummmer Kenny Jones would have been a better choice then Steve Jordan? I thought he and Charlie meshed together very well at Ronnie Lane's ALS Benefit Concert way back when and that he'd be closer to what we get from Charlie vs. what Jordan might sound like.

While the 'purists' were ready to put an asterisk on this year's NBA playoffs because of the number of prominent All-Stars felled by injury, which thereby, in their words, 'diluted the field', I still felt it was going to be incredibly competitive...and was proven correct. What led to this twist? Was it Karma? Destiny? Kismet? In a day and age where NBA superstars have

I no longer have any interest in seeing the band perform live; it would basically be a continuation of what they've been doing for the past decade or so: The Wash, Rinse, Repeat Tour'. Still, if they've got the energy to continue to get up on stage for a couple of hours every third or fourth night and not embarrass themselves, then more power to them. In that case I might watch a f

Quotedcba QuoteFancyBluesMan I'm fully aware that Mick is free to do whatever he pleases at this stage of the game but I'm sorry, I want the genuine article...Keith's Open G riffs, Ronnie's fills, Charlie's metronomic drumming...and will accept nothing less. No more solo stuff, no more collaborations Do you realize you put a creative death sentence over Mick' head.

QuoteGhostTown2021 QuoteFancyBluesMan I find it amusing that you suggest...or infer...that since I'm so picky, selective, and discriminatory in my musical wants, that I cherry pick through the Stones' catalog, past and/or future, in order to avoid disappointment. Appreciate your concern for my well-being but your benevolence is misguided and misplaced...and certainly not needed. Gla

QuoteGhostTown2021 I've been listening to the Stones long enough now, close to sixty years, to know that NOT every song features "Keith's OPEN G riffs, Ronnie's fills, or Charlie's metronomic drumming". However, I'll thank you for taking the time to point that out but you clearly missed my point: I want to hear something from the band as a unit, not these side

Just because Mick is remaining active and recording/putting out crap like 'Eazy Sleazy' doesn't immunize him from the criticism being hurled in his direction by those who find this latest 'effort' a bore. Would you be lavishing him with praise if he were to release a collection of children's songs while the Stones continue to remain dormant, simply because "he&#

Didn't feel like posting a pre-game teaser prior to the Patriots-Dolphins game (really...what would have been the point?) but I will acknowledge the 'obituaries' that are being written now that NE has failed to make the playoffs for the first time in 12 years, suffered their first losing season under Belichick since 2000, and relied on an offense that looked like it had been culled

The more I think about it, the more Cam Newton looks like a guy who was converted to QB after being drafted to play another position. The passing stats once again failed to barely register a blip on the radar screen as the NE offense struggled to put points on the board in a game against the Rams that was there for the taking. Yet, almost immediately after the defeat, Belichick reiterated that &q
