QuoteStoneage QuoteMister O However I do like what Keith has called songs performed live "Growing up". Things change over the years and minor changes in the arraingments can turn something old into something different. Sometimes better sometimes worse. But it gives us variety I'm not so sure about that. Songs like JJ Flash, Satisfaction and Brown Sugar sound about the same every

I am more in favor of short versions of songs with the exception of Rambler. Once the songs go into "Allman Brothers" territory they lose direction in my opinion. Thankfully Chuck did not bring that over to the Stones. However I do like what Keith has called songs performed live "Growing up". Things change over the years and minor changes in the arraingments can turn somet

Remembering back to when the Stones were inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame by Pete Townsend. Pete said "Even though we are friends, I am still a fan". It would most likely be safe to say that the Stones view Pete Townsend as a peer. But the point is, with the Stones, most people are fans. Even if they may not be fond of the Stones music, most people would admire their succ

2000 Light Years would be my first choice. Time Is On My Side which has only been played twice since the 1981-2 tour. But to be fair according to set list it has been played live over 140 times but mostly in 1965 and 66. It is still my favorite Stones cover song and it really shines when the Stones play it live.

If Stoneage's question is why did the well run dry in 1981, meaning why have the Stones not soared to the heights of their early greatness in making classic hit songs since then. I think it is a valid question and here is why. At that period in time MTV was introduced and it changed the dynamics of the music industry. Before MTV, for the most part, to see a group perform you actually ha

Thanks I never knew the story behind this album. I assume that "Mahoney's last stand" was the name of the Movie that this was the soundtrack for? Interesting to see that Glyn Johns is on Vocals and also that Bobby plays "Brass on a few numbers. I remember seeing this in record shops back in the 70's, but for whatever reason, I never picked it up.

I have to admit I was a little nervous this time around. In a sort of parent going to see his children playing in a sporting event. There was a part of me thinking to myself can they pull this off? But thankfully they performed magnificently. It was great reuniting with friends at the shows. Hanging out with the Shadoobie crowd at Giants stadium - MetLife. So many great people. A friend of

I just gave most of it listen and I really liked it. It definitely reminded me of listening to Monkey Grip which I also enjoyed. Great driving album in a sort of 'time to play B sides' mood. A lot of Chuck influence, but Bill puts his stamp on this one. I give it a B+

QuoteGJB Made it into the stadium. Lucky dips, pulled 142 side seats - not a bad view though! Heard a few screams as people had pit tickets from the LD desk but most people I polled on the way out of the queue had seats of some description. Same here section 142 row 23 . Very pleased!Enjoy
