QuoteGlimmerest What a coincidence that a Swedish article is posted here on my second day. Also, I think the author has a point, but I'd also argue that in many cases these guys are so rich that making money can't be the ONLY motivator. I personally tend to think that with the Stones a lot of it is addiction to the life-style as well as fear of boredom and decay in retirement. Welc

QuoteMathijs There is something very strange with this release....it doesn't do anything for me. Just totally nothing. It doesn't move me, thrill me, energize me. It doesn't bother me, like most live shows with Daryll Jones do bother me. The sound doesn't even bother me, like the sound of most recent live releases bother me. Very strange indeed. Mathijs Actually I kind

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteTooTight I think the big difference with all those other bands, they've been done and are relying on legacy. Whoever is managing those businesses has to rely on different revenue streams (Elton being the exception, as he's managed to glom on to younger acts to stay out there while hitting the older fans with a farewell tour). While not necessarily "rele

I’ve been discussing this extensively in other threads, so it’s refreshing to see this finally being acknowledged here. I’d like to contribute a few observations: I’m 36, and among my closest friends—who, not surprisingly, are also Stones fans because I got them into it—most still recognize more Queen songs than Rolling Stones tracks. Among my wider circle of acquaintances, they’ve likely hear

I have been following @#$%& for years and I do like the fact that they try to compensate that the albums/singles have not been renewed when it comes to certifications for years. I know some people in high positions within the industry, and while they all consider The Rolling Stones to be a fantastic force, they've struggled with a late-career revival. For instance, look at the impact that

I still listen to some of the songs on a regular basis, Mess it up, Angry, Depending on you etc. I know a lot of you dont like Mess it up, but I consider it a lost opportunity being basically the only song on the album that could attract younger generations. My kids dance to that one and even my wife likes it. But they kind of blow that opportunity. I thought maybe it would be released with a

Looking forward to 2025! As a comment on younger audience etc. It is of course quite obvious that other artists such as Madonna, ABBA, AC/DC, Queen, Elton John etc have better success among younger people. Just look at the streaming. Even CCR are having more monthly listeners. I think its a pity and I hope for a revival soon. Maybe through a colab, tv series, movies, games, musicals or whatever

Quotepowerage78 Stones audiences aren't renewed as much as they should be. They're aging. Particularly in the US. I've seen AC/DC's audience in 2024, so much younger and more energetic, like their music. yes well, some of the older artist have had an revival in later days, attracting younger fans. something Stones have been struggling with, at least when you look on streamin

Quotewaterrats QuoteDiegoGlimmerStones Uuhh - not a sell-out? Not even close, fun thing is that all events seems to sell very low numbers after the platinum tickets are released as normal tickets. Maybe some ppl think its already sold out or don’t return to try to get tickets due to high pricing. Seattle though have had a rough time selling GA. But I Guess some have been upgraded as well

Quotejohn lomax How about a list of their worst stages. I'll start: 1. The horrible 14 on Fire stage used in Tokyo and Abu Dhabi. I think that stage was the absolute pinnacle of "cheap and nasty" When you think about how massive the Tokyo Dome is, and the amazing stages the Stones had used there in the past, the Tokyo fans must have been so disappointed to see that horr
