From Chuck Leavell: Gregg Allman was not only a friend and brother, but he was a strong inspiration to me very early on in my career. I used to go see the Allman Joys at the Fort Brandon Armory in Tuscaloosa, Alabama when I was a young aspiring musician of 13 and 14 years old. He mesmerized me with his talent…that incredible voice, his understated yet strong stage presence. As he developed as

Who said there won't be a new album? The last info I heard was that they made some new songs when the did Blue and Lonesome. Then did't Charlie say recently they went back in the studio or was it an old interview?

Quotegastonl74 Hello! How are you! Someone has this photo? If someone has it, could you post it? Thank you very much !! Can you scan the photo. It'll be easier to find. It looks the the red shirt from that Mick wore in Philadelphia but it's later in the tour. I can tell by Mick's longer hair. It may be a movie still from Let's Spend the Night Together movie.

QuoteHonkeyTonkFlash Love those crowd shots with the cherry picker! That thing went right over my head that beautiful fall day; crazy to know I'm there in those crowd shots but impossible to single out! One really cool thing about the first Philly show was that we didn't expect the Mick on the cherry picker! Here are a few more images to find yourself under the cherry picker

The Philly soundboards are much different than Hampton. The beginning of the 1981 tour had no Sax players and the band played much faster, similar to the 1978 tour. You Can't Always Get What You Want sounded more like Love You Live than the 1981 versions that are well known (Hampton and KBFH Radio Shows). Go-Go wasn't on the set list until much later in the tour and Down the Road

QuoteWinning Ugly VXII + the shows with Mona and Tops falls under "The first 8 or 9 shows of the tour for some rare live songs not performed later in the tour". No sax player in Philadelphia or Buffalo. Lee Allen in Rockford and Boulder. Ernie Watts joined up in San Diego. Bobby Keys made spot appearances starting in Orlando. Bobby was in LA too.

Quote71Tele The Stones on the El Mocambo side of LYL are vibrant, tight, crisp, and sound great. The other three sides are lackluster, and the band sounds tired and murky. My question: Does anyone know why they didn't just take the entire live LP from the El Mocambo performances instead of using tapes of the 76 European tour for most of it? Did they not play complete sets at El Mocambo? This
