I saw two of them: Bucharest and Slane. I have to agree with something I read here on IORR a few weeks ago, that the band was at top speed during July, in the middle of the tour. Watching a lot of concert movies on youtube and comparing various shows in various moments of the tour I will say that Bucharest was one of the best shows in the tour ( regardless the fact that it had only 18 songs ).

nice set of questions, bringing back memories heard it in the late 70's, when I was 13 or 14 Borrowed Roled Gold from a friend, then taped, then listened 1000 times. what a feeling..... Then heard it live, in Budapest in 1995, then in Prague in 2003. Each time thought it will be the last time. now I know it's not true

I don't count The Beatles as a rock band. I think they were supernatural, aliens or something... Coming down on Earth, starting the fire, then leaving after seven years... Therefore No.2 is... why not ? The Band. The most beautiful storytellers in the history. Thank you Martin for bringing them back to the present. Last Waltz is still the best rock movie ever made.

Havo is right ! Stones' songs are better and better after a number of auditions. Songs I loved from the first chord: many of them. Coming to my mind right now: Don't Stop and Love Is Strong. And you know what ? Satisfaction !

I think I met The Band before the Stones ( saw The Last Waltz in theatre before having a copy of Roled Gold ) I saw the movie about 17 times before being able to catch the audio recording. A few years ago I finally get the dvd, complete with bonus features. Fantastic the end jam and the announcements ( " the camera stopped after many hours of shooting " ). Really the best rock movie e

Allow me to add a picture from Bucharest. The quality is not very good ( scanned from a magazine ). Look at the people's faces. Everybody's happy, everybody is cheering, having the time of their lives. A true celebration.
