It depends very much how the initial source was. If Gimme Shelter was initially recorded on 16mm, it may be hard to expand it to wide screen. Nobody will do top+bottom crop to achieve 16/9 from a 4/3 source. At the Max it's a different story. The original shooting was on film, widescreen for IMAX theaters.
