Quotebv I am mentioning fields and parks because some think it takes a large stadium to make a Stones show in UK. They did a park in Hamburg - Stadpark. They played next to the wall on a grass field in Lucca. If the field is central, I am fine with a field. Both Hamburg and Lucca were great locations, while Spielberg was a nightmare travel wise. I am sure the UK tour will be great, when they have

Quotejohn lomax 10-12 gigs in just the UK and Ireland seems like a lot. If you think about it: I can possibly see 10 but no more than that, i.e. 1 show in Dublin 1 show in Cardiff 1 show in Glasgow/Edinburgh 1 show in Newcastle 1 show in Manchester 1 show in Sheffield 3 shows in London 1 show in Knebworth To get to 12 shows you'd need to add, say, a show in Bel

Quoterattler2004 The wife took me to Bruno Mars last Wednesday...the guy is James Brown, Michael Jackson, Prince, and the best of Showtime at the Apollo...and it’s not derivative, somehow he owns the entire thing, the songs, the dancing, the band m, th choreography. Fantastic show! He made a new fan. took my 9 year old daughter earlier this year, enjoyed it as much as she did ;-)

Quotecrumbling_mice I'll give a shout out for them to play Leeds...we have a very nice new arena which acoustically is better than most. I was at the Roundhay Park gig in 1982 and as we know it's now been released officially due to it being a great show...similarly the Leeds University gig from 71 has gone down as a classic gig in their history (was only 10 years old so missed that one

Fabulous actor particularly when working for lynch. He stole the few scenes he was in on the recent (and also excellent) twin peaks revival. I'd no idea he was 91, he's always looked the same. What a great talent and by all accounts a fabulous man. Big loss

if anyone needs a detailed stadium seating plan the following allows a zoom in and look at specific seat numbers/rows. was curious if my row 28 block 221 would be at the back or front of the block, from this though can figure out much nearer the front (i.e. row 28 includes 2ish rows of lower block 121 rather than being the 28th row of 2nd tier). it's for celine dion rather than stones

Went last night - very enjoyable Early review from an online outlet and some great pics here It was a lovely warm evening - wasteland in liverpool's dock lands not the best venue for this kind of music but was a sell out (10-15k I'd guess) and well received apart from a bit of impatience in his 30m late arrival. Guests will no doubt differ but the Kills on waiting for the man and wh

just got back - was there with the kids (9 and 12) Thankfully left half way thru last song but heard an enormous bang (ground shaking, def not a speaker or balloon as early reports indicated), got in the car and away very quickly. Thoughts go out to those that stayed to the end, nobody should ever not come back from a gig

'Everybody loves our town' is one of the best rock biographies I've ever read, about the rise and fall of the grunge scene (a term actually coined by Mark Arm of Mudhoney in a letter in the early 80s). superbly put together with first hand accounts and interesting insight into Cornell, Cobain, etc.
