Fred Wedlock - Oldest Swinger In Town 1998 Of course I'll love you when you're getting old, so just get 'old of this. She came to a fancy dress party dressed all in red and black, and I said,"What have you come as,then?" She said,"I've come as the dying embers of a fire, and if I don't get a poke soon, I'm going out."

Quote24FPS As an American I've never heard of some of those groups. Every time I open a MOJO it seems there's something about the Walker Brothers. I don't remember hearing about them at all. And what the hell is a Dave Dee, Dozy, whatever? Walker Bros. were a British invasion in reverse in that they came from US to seek fame and fortune in swinging London, and didn't do too

This Korean drummer isn't called Moon, unfortunately, although it is a common Korean name, but he seems to be a KM disciple: A Korean boxer named Moon came to fight in the country I'm living in, and got knocked out, and the headline in the following day's paper read: Moon Sees Stars. A more worthy contender for the King of Drummers title would be Carmine Appice:

Re: closing the show. Supposedly, Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry were doing a show together and had a massive argument over who was going to close the show. After an extremely heated argument, Jerry Lee finally said fine, he'd go first. By the end of his set, the crowd were on their feet and screaming. While he did his closer, "Great Balls of Fire", he sprayed the piano with l

Showing my age here: 1957 Charlie Gillett said that rock'n'roll petered out around 1958.That was the year that "ballads" were touted as the next big thing, and rock'n'roll sort of ran out of steam. Or maybe it was just that I grew one year older, and was less impressionable. Here's a sample of what was in the charts in'57: Tony Blackburn - Pick

Not being American, I'd never been aware of this cultural quirk mentioned in the Yahoo link at the top: QuoteMaya Angelou "Black people rarely forgave whites for being ragged, unkempt and uncaring. There was a saying which explained the disapproval, 'You been white all your life. Ain't got no further along than this? What ails you?'"

What means twice on the pipe? Songfacts In the tenement or apartment block where he lives, he's interested in the girl who lives in the room below him, although he has never met her. If she feels the same way about him, he tells her to knock three times on the ceiling, probably with a broom handle, and he will hear the message. "he should have done a James Dean" I'd better take that back; I wouldn't like to have been without this: BD is supposed to have said that this was his favourite cover of one of his songs, although I suspect he might have said the same thing about lots of his other songs. This would appear to have been the inspiration for EP:
