While looking at your pic, open-G, I was wondering what kind of Wide Range Humbucker that is on Keith's guitar. There's no "Fender" logo on it as far as I can see, and the original '72 customs had one, no? Maybe I'm wrong, so please clarify. Donny

Quotescottkeef You can find it in perfect quality on "We Want The Rare Stones" boot (Glimmer Twins Records 012), a collection of official "oddities". Other interesting things on here include Waiting On A Friend(edited promo version),Street fighting Man (original withdrawn 7' pressing) and Sympathy for The Devil(German 7" single version). Interesting read, this thread, and excellent comments from Beely above (thanks for clarifying the difference between "remix" and "remaster") and WeLoveYou. Scenario A mentioned by you seems to fit with the CBS issues of the late 80s. But I'm not sure if the Virgin Remasters are not a mixture of Scenarios B and C actually. What I mean is that they could have used improved

Man, I'm kind of shocked. I was listening to some JHE while I was driving to work today, thinking to myself - and I'm not kidding now - what a @#$%& great drummer Mitch ...is - and now I must learn - ...was. Coincidence? I don't know... I just hope that they - as was pointed out before - reunite up there and have a gig up in the sky. Jimi's music has always been from another

HI y'all, Keith looks great in these pictures, but he's really become an old man (which is absolutely OK concerning his age and lifestyle) especially compared to all these super-beauties surrounding him :-) In the pic with Alex, that's real love in his eyes (and pride I suppose), but I'm all in for Liv Tyler, folks. Have you seen her in "Stealing Beauty" (the m

Hi all, some interesting thoughts on that matter here. I have some very early TDK CD-R's (from about 12 years ago) which are very good (probably better than the ones they are producing now). In any case stay away from no-name products. Had some of these and none made the 10 year mark... ;-) Some good points, strettonbull! Oh, btw anybody wants to buy my CD-R bootleg collection? :

Thanks John, you're the man when it comes down to collecting! :-) I did know that difference with SFM, but did you also know that in the ABKCO Remastered Series "Ruby Tuesday" is also different. I think it lacks a certain percussion in the chorus or something. Maybe you can enlighten us about that. Thanks for all the great info, Donny

Of course you are right, I thought you meant the "Shine A Light" -Jennings guitar while you were actually talking about that "Skull-Tele". My fault, sorry. Nevertheless, both very interesting Tele's, although I'm more of a vintage fan to tell you the truth (so I'm more excited with Micawber, Malcolm and their bros & sistas...:-) @ soul: sorry, I'

basically the first and foremost difference was: 335: DOT-inlays 345: Paralellogramme (trapeze)-inlays 355: BLOCK-inlays but then again there are special versions of each model that have features that normally only the others would have, so....

Well put, Spud! This is exactly how I feel about the CD as such. The DSD/SACD Abkco remasters do sound a lot better than the old "Dig. Rem" Abkco's (available in America and later also in Europe), BUT there were also "London" CD issues, that, in some cases were done by the MSFL factory and have a very good sound. (made approx. from 1985-1988). Also, there still are dif

What about agreeing on "about 150 shows" or "almost 150 shows" or "around 150 shows"..... :-) No, in all earnesty, I believe that in the tour documentary on "Biggest Bang" the Toronto warm up gig (Phoenix) is counted as Show #1 of the tour which is fine for me since Julliard was only at the press conference. On the other hand, they count "Superbowl

Thanks JR, you're the man! Well, I did some research myself in the meantime and on UK and US e-bay these tapes still seem to be quite common in rotation. But in the country where I live, everybody trashes themselves with shitty sounding MP3 files and they even think that they are better sounding than anything heard before. Makes you wanna cry, really... One question I still have, JR, i

That's an easy one: The Stones owed Decca another Single at the end of their contract, so they came up with CS Blues. Since that was "unrelea
