I like this song well enough, but it's an odd choice for a tour with otherwise so few gems. Similar songs like "Hang Fire" and "Neighbours" are superior, IMO, and the band has more experience with them. cc

You might want to check out this band Califone and, maybe even more, the band they evolved from, Red Red Meat. Bluesy sound, definitely Exile-influenced. cc

Haven't heard that track by Otis Rush, but he is a fantastic blues performer. Actually I'm surprised the Stones never hooked up with him. I saw him live a few years ago, and he didn't seem like the friendliest guy -- which made for a great atmosphere -- maybe that's why.

Explain? (I think the song's ok, it was much better live in fact, but I don't hear anything remotely from Sticky Fingers in it.)

This song impresses even the non-fan. Like "Paint It Black" in that way. It's often alluded to in news articles, etc. I was really surprised they didn't play it for the New Orleans benefit. I guess it was too literal. cc

I do love Bowie's sound on this recording and was so impressed when I learned it was him. He gets a really r

ohno, I've only heard the opening night show in its entirety and a few other tracks here and there. Need to download the MSG show (my brother was at it) when I get back from this weekend (hope there are still some seeders left). I mean they don't sound much different from the Licks shows, but after listening to a few of those I lost interest. On a good recording, you hear lots of clams,

I agree with the original poster, the band does not sound too good. Even the warhorses are shaky, like JJF. And the warhorses have more energy than the "gems," which sound as if they're played to please people on this board. Sound problems, too, like having keith turned down for the intro to Satisfaction. ron's solos all go off track after a few bars. The new songs do sound pr

The blues sessions he did with the Red Devils are excellent, IMO. And "The Long Black Veil" with the Chieftains is wonderful. Haven't heard the Jimmie Rogers album, but would like to.

Holy cow, does keith blow the intro to "brown sugar." Wow... did he get hit by fireworks or something? Thanks drake! cc

Who do you think is playing the lead guitar parts on the album version of "Saint of Me"? ron or... waddy wachtel? I think it might be the latter. cc

I thought this performance was pretty weak, too, and I love the song. It just didn't seem like there was much for the guitars to do. keith looked confused, and there are only about 20 words for mick to sing. The horns sounded just like the record, anyway.

If keith really does this disney movie, I hope it should finally change the keith = cool, mick = uncool idea that so many fans seem locked into. cc

And its success on Sympathy is probably what leads mick back to the well. At its worst ("Blinded by Rainbows"), it's an insincere way to "dignify" a song and associate it with Sympathy. But he might sometimes ge
