I looked into the Marriott while on Expedia and while it is fully refundable, it must be paid for immediately. If you can afford to pay for it up front, no problem I guess. You can cancel up to Sept 22nd for free. Does anyone know anything about the Holiday Inn which also seems to be nearby? 811 N. 9th Street. plexi

IT IS NOW ONE WEEK SINCE OUR BELOVED GOD CHARLIE PASSED. I THOUGHT GODS DIDN'T DIE. I got a message from another librarian of all damned things, but she didn't name him, just said 'one of your band members' and I feared it was Charlie and went straight to IORR where the terrible news was confirmed. I read some of the posts and the announcement by the spokesman, and after

I should remember some of these details, but I don't. I was at the Kopenhagen show too, but we'd just flown in and I had been up for two nights in a row without sleep. I nearly made it three nights in a row but crashed at 3 am. Guess I was trying to match Keith. What I remember are a couple of things: Ronnie played a perfect Mick Taylor solo on Can't You Hear Me Knockin; we w

QuoteMisterDDDD QuoteTopi Not necessarily sure unsold tickets will result in more LDs released but the LDs currently held may turn into great seats. Also expect some "operational on-site" upgrades to happen. That back GA you got may get bumped to something better. Yeah, agree it's not likely. But, there are an awful lot of empty seats, and with travel restrictions and leerine

I have a friend in Sacramento who has a blues show on the public radio station who wishes to do a Charlie tribute and asked me if I know of any such recordings. Or anything blues-based that involved Charlie, say non-Stones or rare early Stones blues style recordings? plexi

QuoteMisterDDDD Kid Rock Cancels Shows, Reveals “Half The Band Has F**king Covid” Kid Rock canceled his weekend concerts at Billy Bob’s in Texas due to half his band having Covid. The singer announced the news on Thursday (Aug. 26) via his social media, revealing that despite being vaccinated, half of his band has Covid but he does not. “Billy Bob’s Shows This Weekend… I am pissed,” Kid

Quote24FPS QuoteThe Sicilian Personally, I still haven't gotten over missing Zeppelin. Back in 1977 when Robert Plant's son died I had tickets in my hand. We were 12 days and two shows away from the highly anticipated concert. Of course the tour was rightfully cancelled, as it should have been. Still, I was devastated. So we returned the tickets (we did not get the service charge back)

QuoteMisterDDDD Can't imagine what a B-stage visit would look like without Charlie. Took the opportunities to get close to it over the years, primarily excited to also get that close to Charlie. Once in Vegas, got so close to the plexiglas he had the setlist written on that I was later able to impress a young lady usher. She challenged me that there was no way I was going to get by her t

QuoteRocky Dijon I do not doubt for a second that the band is broken up by this personally. They understood the seriousness of Charlie's procedure and the risk afterwards as anyone would. The announcement of the tour, then the PR announcement about Charlie pulling out were not timed to make sure ticket sales were not impacted as some have cynically suggested. The timing was to give Charlie,

Fine job of assembling all those newspaper front pages, Olaf. Powerful. Did you personally scan them, or more likely, just pull them off the web? One question for you or anyone -- the Sun quoted an unnamed insider as saying that things took an unexpected turn (for the worse). How reliable is the Sun as a newspaper? plexi

Quoterbk It isn’t that the masks and vaccines don’t work or that they are particularly dangerous. The people who don’t want them, by and large, don’t trust the entities who are so emphatically advocating their use. Be it the government, media, dodgy scientists or their overbearing, know-it-all neighbor. People have to trust those pushing the vaccine. A significant portion of Americans (percentage

QuoteGasLightStreet NFL stadiums will most likely NOT be full weeks 1, 2, 3 and however long, although at some point they may be. Just a guess. The whole 'be vaxxed or tested for entry' thing is one way to get people that have paid big bucks for season tickets to... be part of the big picture or not be in the picture at all. Think of the pushback in stadiums in the south, wh
