Aware that I am in a minority of very few on this forum, I still appreciated the two songs in their released maxi single format as more interesting and attractive than the third studio album by his vetoing band collegue.

QuoteKRiffhard I’m starting to think we’ll have a new Mick's solo album very soon. That would be a treat. With the working title VETOED BY KEEF. And the rest of the band participating as if it would have been a Rolling Stones album.

I have not myself read "Life". Consequently, once again I need the following quote: QuoteDoxa Funny thing to consider is if Keith's claim in LIFE holds true - that Mick would wanted to record the whole album (A BIGGER BANG) again in a proper studio, but Keith and Was vetoed (because they liked the 'raw feel' on it, or something) - what it would have turned to be like?

Quotebam The board has had threads on warhorses, and threads on songs we wish would be played more. I’m not asking here for songs that would just be fun, like “We Love You,” or “She Smiled Sweetly.” And I’m not asking for rotation songs that get played occasionally, or good songs like “Love Is Strong” that should come out more often. What one undeniably great Rolling Stones song do you thing

In this thread I will refer to an argument of the type: "There is no dark side of the moon really. As a matter of fact, it is all dark". Argument applied here means that there are not any ten best Rolling Stones songs. As a matter of fact, there are dozens of ten best Rolling Stones songs. What instead matters, is to make a choice of ten Rolling Stones songs that may suit each other

QuoteStoneage I was thinking more in line what I would put on spin in my car stereo or something. I need variation and freshness. The warhorses? I can't listen to them anymore. Yes, somehow I share the view that the overkilling use of warhorses live makes me, too, reluctant to nominate any of those songs for a best ten songs album. They have not got the needed freshness for that. Warh

I will not demand anything from the Rolling Stones now. However, if I am permitted to say so, my interest, my wish and my dream are much greater towards a new studio album by the Stones than to witness still another concert by the band with largely unchanged setlists.

Quotetreaclefingers The Stones have had several great periods, the one most notably cited as 68-72. What is your next, big 4? Some Girls - a revival of sorts, artistically and massive success. Emotional Rescue - a coattails album, 'sounding' even better than it's predecessor. Tattoo You - latter day peak, never again to be matched in subsequent releases. The Brown Suga

Not one of the best songs even of this highly moderate Stones album, I still find it strongly exaggerated how weak this song is considered to be by many posters.

To me DIRTY WORK, STEEL WHEELS and VOODOO LOUNGE constitute the absolute slump in the great career of the Rolling Stones. Probably I regard "Hold on to Your Hat" as the most indifferent song on STEEL WHEELS.

Only by a new studio album would the Stones dramatically rouse me now. When I from time to time read setlists that remain largely unchanged, I look away in silent resignation. I still feel a more downtoned thorough enjoyment by listening to their records, though, but usually I am looking more forward to hear music by other bands that for me has more novelty about it. (The football club that I f

So what do I win or prove? You've won Eric Clapton's best guitar and proved you're not that fussed on Gomper............ I am one of the very few, who love "Gomper". I like it ev

QuotePietro Quotenick1970 Dancing with Mr d.. is just not very good.. Quite true. But the fault lies with the man who wrote the lyrics. The tune itself is classic Keith Richards -- understated but very much in the groove. His writing partner provided the daft lyrics that kill the song. I for one disagree. Somehow I consider (as mentionned in another thread) "Dancing with Mr D" as a

This larger group will consist of: 1) All songs from EMOTIONAL RESCUE. 2) One song only from TATTOO YOU, "Waiting on a Friend". 3) All songs from UNDERCOVER. 4) No songs from DIRTY WORK. 5) One song only from STEEL WHEELS, " Continental Drift". But, but, but capturing into music and into an ensuing album that "Coming Down Feeling" from having fulfilled their former demanding albums after the artistic turn of their career and as such embodying a certain resulting lethargic state of mind from this long moment, does not this instead mean transforming a weakness into an asset when one experiences this more or less unified unique
