After listening to Just 14, I think it's clearly Keith on slide. Anybody confirm? Meet Mr Blue sure sounds stonesy to me (Yah, yah, yah), but is less reliant on Keith than I remembered. Also - damn those strings! But marvellous piano - Hopkins?

Never heard two basses on TD. In his latest book Bill says the Exile Liner notes were wrong about bass credits for two tracks - one was "Shine A Light" and I think the other was ADTL. He says it's him on both. (Will check if he said ADTL).

Mr Drugstore (I presume it's Mr) Yes, Short and Curlies is shite. But goodness, DYRWTBMF is not much better. Comparable to Let It Loose? OM Giddy Aunt. It is a song written from Jagger's head and I don't detect an ounce of genuine emotion. Unlike LIL, it was so obviously carefully and painstaingly rehearsed and constructed. (And those STUPID backing singers!) Same with Till the

KSIE, Try an ear syringe! You can hear MT playing lead on Zulu Warrior. That's the most obvious one. Superb testament to the Keith/Taylor partnership. There are others. Slide on Just 14? Not sure about that one. Probably some bass, though I think that is Ron's main contribution to the album. Mr Blue is one of the stonesiest non-stones tracks I've ever heard. One of last gr

Rockman, I'm from the Vinyl Era. TWFNO was last track on side one. Thank goodness it was not ruined by being so closely followed by Luxury. That must be hell! Luxury was (and IS!) the first track on side 2. It's lame. Never convinced me, ever. Lyrics, trite. Yes, some nice rhythmic stuff going on - but so contrived/manufactured. To you - respect. (As for me - I'm prepar

Because it's not a good live song. (And it's not a good studio one either). Dance Little Sister would work better live. (Another sub-standard studio effort).

I did try and rediscover all that early '70s prog stuff...Yes, ELP, Genesis, Wishbone Ash, and Caravan. The latter is the one that has stood the test of time best, to my ears. Did not take things too seriously..but also very innovative and melodious. Albums include: "If I could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You" 1970. "Land of Grey and Pink" (Title

Some of "Trilogy" is worth a go. Especially Greg Lake's "In The Beginning". (Or is it "From the Beginning"?). Totally tasteful. I've forgotten most of the rest!

You should check out Caravan. (Whom Genesis used to support in their early days). And, selectively, ELP and Van Der Graaf Generator.

Dylan would sing: "Come on (all?) without, Come on (all?) within....... You've not seen nothing like the Mighty Emlyn"! Then he'd enigmatically change the subject of the chorus and title to some obscure Eskimo. Billy, you know which team Dylan would support! He's not the world's most consistent performer but there's no questioning his pedigree, commitm

The scores mentioned by Logie are not 'total bollocks'. They are totally true. Liverpool had a successful CAMPAIGN. They beat some very good teams over two legs and another very good one in the final. Liverpool succeeded where Chelsea. Man U. and Arsenal all failed, in their Europaean campaigns, IN SPITE of their better players and more money etc. MAGIC! Would you complain if,

So YOU must be the 'twelfth man' that Steven Gerrard keeps referring to. Make sure that he refunds your cab fare!

I bet you don't hate Dudek when he plays for Poland! Just look forward to 2006 and hope you have the chance to see Poland, Italy and England in the World Cup - and the Stones throughout Europe the same summer. Cheers. But go easy on the Vodka.
