QuoteTurner68 QuoteLieB QuoteTurner68 QuoteLieB I believe the main difference between Hendrix and Taylor is not in the guitar department, but in terms of songwriting, vocals, stage persona, charisma, etc. Even Ronnie Wood is a better solo artist than MT, in my opinion, because he has written good songs and is a more extroverted stage artist. In terms of singing, I would say Woody and Taylor ar

QuoteJustAnotherFan Listen to the 'Ladies & Gentlemen' DVD in stereo, not the surround mixes, same with the Blu-Ray, and any digital download (iTunes). It sounds great in stereo. It's quieter than a lot of modern recordings, but quiet isn't awful. It's far from a lot of compression we hear these days, though there are a few digital artifacts on the iTunes version, som

QuoteLiveAtHidepark Quotestonesrule I don't like arguments so anyone here that needs to believe I'm wrong about the earliest performances of "All Down the Line" is welcome to do so. I was there on the early dates of the 1970 European Tour as a guest of the band. Believe anything that makes you happy. Cause I got better things to do than argue about music. Quotestonesru

Quote71Tele !!! "Taylor can't play rhythm."...yeah, right. It's certainly a lot of fun to hear all those rhythm variations, each one conveying the rhythm yet igniting the song like a lead break. He played most of those variations on the version of Bitch with Herbie Mann and at various points on the '72 tour, probably most extensively at one of the Phil. shows.

Much better than I expected! Would like to see more reissues cover this sort of ground (such as the version of ADTL as a work in progress). There could always be a shoulda, woulda, coulda, why-did-they? gripe to be made about outtakes selected, but for this particular track, I'd offer encouragement.

QuoteNaturalust Sounds pretty speculative to me. No real information that the Taylor/Richards Burst indeed has short magnets in the PAF's. But it would be great to try these pickup's out and do an A/B comparison of the vintage PAF's. Taylor's best sounds came out of that SG he used to play anyway, imo. peace Did you check the link to the Throbak site? QuoteThe first and o

Still no Gibson Mick Taylor Signature guitar. But a manufacturer claims to have cloned his pick ups. MT-102B Custom MXV P.A.F. Specs.: Neck 8.3K, Bridge 8.0K, Short A2 magnets. ... The original pickups in the Taylor/Richards Burst are in fact short magnet P.A.F.'s. Short magnets in a P.A.F. are not typical but not unheard of. And a few years ago I sent a short P.A.F. magnet from

How many who want to see Taylor on the Stones tour let Jagger know on Twitter or FB, where his people might actually count posts? (There is a difference between campaign and complain.) For those looking to move on, the next step for Taylor? _/ Return Dylan's call from 1985 to join his tour _/ Join Mayall for his upcoming US tour No smoking allowed on the Mayall tour _/ Team up

Quoteash I've been lucky enough to hear all the gigs this is excerpted from. Well worth picking up - it's Peter Green. Any idea what other treats Mr. Huissen has? When I first saw " '67 " I thought they would be Taylor shows.

The Mayall site has more info: www.johnmayall.com The genesis of Live in 1967 came about because a staunch fan from Holland, Tom Huissen, was able to sneak a one channel reel-to-reel tape recorder into five London clubs (including the famed Marquee) in early 1967 and capture this exciting glimpse into music history. For nearly 50 years these tapes remained unheard until John Mayall acqui

QuoteHALOLS From what I have managed to find, this is from around 2008-2009. Most likely not very well rehearsed and so on... Song starts around 2:00. Real enjoyment from 6:20 to 7:40 At least it clearly shows that MT still can play melodic solos. Why on Earth they chose to have MT on MR the last RS tours is an enigma to me. video: Thanks for posting this!
