Nothing new but I'll post it here anyway (from rollingstone.com): Rolling Stones Recording in France 'Had fun in the Paris studio!' Mick Jagger tweets By Patrick Doyle August 27, 2012 1:15 PM ET After months of speculation whether the Rolling Stones would record this year to mark their 50th anniversary, the band spent time in a Paris recording studio last week. QuoteBarn Owl QuoteSir Craven of Cottage I like that one he did in the Robin Hood movie - what was it called? You seem to be confusing the name 'Ryan' with 'Bryan'! My pet hamster has the same problem. That was a good joke, made me laught for real. Maybe this "Sir" was mixing the Disney-movies up as well?

QuoteGazza anything by Sonny Rollins - especially "Slave" Bobby's excellent, but as a musician Rollins is a different class. Agree. Bobby is equal to the Stones. But imagine having Sonny on stage every night... When was the last time there was a sax solo on a Stones song? For what I know, Sonny is alive and well still, bring him in for a few new songs would be a great ide

QuoteSilver Dagger Judging by the general tone of this thread it's clear that The Stones really need to take more risks. They are playing it too safe and thus are coasting down the freeway to cabaretville. Ditch the backing singers, ditch the keyboards and keep it lively. Change the setlist as much as Bruce does or is that beyond them at this stage in their venerable careers? Most of us woul

OK thanks for the info. I haven't paid much attention to the CDs because I'm a vinyl-person myself... The day that these CDs will be added with extra songs I'll start to pay attention (if that day ever comes...)

What is this Gen X talk... What generation are we speaking of? I've never heard anyone refer to themselves to that term... Anyway, Tattoo you is the Stones-record I've been most obsessed with since I first heard it not too long ago (6 years ago maybe). It's often very cheap on LP so I often buy copies of it to friends to give away...

Quoteskipstone The regular reissue says nothing of that nature, only the track length is longer than the CBS. The way I found out was by listening to it and reading about it some magazine, ROLLING STONE perhaps or something. Goldmine. I find that rather odd though, how you said how much they cared (didn't) about the remasters. I thought they did a fantastic job with representing the orig

Quoteskipstone Yeah, the 1994 remasters. Just one more excuse to get your money. OK thanks. I was looking for the long version of Slave. According to the sleeve it has the short version, but when i checked the length of the track it actually is the long version. What a mess. Tells us how much the label actually cared about the remasters!

Quotedunhill Quotewesley No Use Crying, the only filler, or is it in a wrong company Actually I think it's a great song. I call the Tops, Heaven, No Use Crying sequence "The Trilogy of Pain", one of the Stones' best b-sides ever. It IS the best B-side ever in my opinion. But also one of few "sides" where the songs fits each other so well...

Anyone actually know who putted together the Rarities record? With all the errors and bad choices? Such a good idea with such a miserable resault. Anyone here would have made a better job...

All 3 of CSN (not mentionening Neil, he's in a league of his own) produced great solo-albums in the 70s... For Nash, I recommend Songs For Beginners. Stills did Mannassas (his first and second solo-album before that one are great too) and Crosby did If I Could Only Remember My Name... All of those are more than average...

Probably what many others dream of... a better (more dirty) production (probably with the help of a new producer), lesser songs (10 or 12 maybe), more blues and country. A real "hit" and opener like like Start me up. Etc.

Seen the movie. The negative things first: -Christina Aguilera was really awful-she didn't only ruin Live with me but ruined the rest of the movie for me... Did anyone like this? What a way of singing... Why her? -The audience-I know they were models in the front-but it didn't look like a rock/concert audience to me... I wish that they could have done the room darker so we didn

Thanks for posting. Mick brings great energy to the song (maybe too much?) but where's the groove of the song (compared to the original)? It's a decent version but with 3 guitars is this all they can provide?

Great (in my opinion) band Band of Horses often seem to play "Act Together" (from Ron Wood's "I've Got My Own Album..." ) live. Here's a clip from Youtube According to this article (http://www.gigwise.com/news/39273/ronnie-wood-set-to-collaborate-with-band-of-horses) Ron likes the band and wants to record it with them... not sure if anyting has been done yet...
