I just watched 'Under the Influence' again. Keith seems to really like Steve Jordan so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. He's a great drummer but he (IMHO) doesn't have the touch or feel that Charlie has. He fits well with Keith's solo stuff but with the Stones...........hmmmm I guess we will see soon enough.

I've heard that the quarantine rules in the states are rarely enforced. Don't know for sure but I'd do what BV is doing; go to Mejico, enjoy 2 weeks, then go to states.

I seem to remember he saying that he never listened to the Stones while at home. It was Shirley who always put a Stones' record on the turntable.

QuoteMisterDDDD Rolling Stones fan who drove trucks for band shares memories of late drummer Charlie Watts ABC Radio Melbourne / By Madi Chwasta If you thought you were the number one Australian fan of the Rolling Stones, think again. Not only is John Abbott a self-confessed superfan — who says he has seen the band play live about 50 times — the well-known long-distance truck driver al

The world has lost one hell of a cool cat. I spent many, many hours of my life listening to him play on records and watching him live. He made it bearable, joyful, fun, and wondrous. His style as a gentleman and talent as a drummer left a positive mark on the world for sure. Thank you, Charles Robert Watts. You made the world a better place with your presence. Love you and miss you.

I miss him terribly. The coolest cat ever. I'm sure he's playing with his idols now and shopping at the ultimate tailors' shops.

Somewhere deep inside I knew a day like this would come, BUT.... I prayed it would happen long after I was gone. I just didn't want to hear about it, see it, live it. It's as if a dagger has been twisted deep in my heart and I have (we all have) lost a cherished family member. God speed, Charlie. I hope you are playing your beloved jazz with all your heroes tonight. You deserve

After the final bow, the lights go down and Steve's kit moves back. Charlies moves forward, the drum riser draped in black with a lone spotlight on Charlie's kit. That would be a moving tribute.

QuoteDavie137 The end of January 2020 I had to deliver a parcel for his wife at their home, you could imagine my surprise when I looked in my side mirror to see this guy walking towards me immaculately dressed. I explained I had a parcel for his wife and that I wasn’t the normal postman so didn’t know the procedure for delivering his mail. He politely explained where it’s normally put and that th

QuoteRockman I've never used the lavatory during a Stones show. Shit treacle What brand of incontinence pads do you wear ??? LOL....personally, the only thing I drink is water (ok, maybe a beer) but have gotten good at holding it for 2-4 hours. But you better move that line when the show is over or you will experience a fire hydrant gone wild.

Here in Saigon, troop carriers and troops in the streets and at the airport as well. I'd post pics but don't know how. There's been talk of martial law beginning Sunday (of course they are not calling it that) so the feces is about to hit the fan. I hope I can make it back to the US to see the boys.

QuoteIrix Quotepowerage78 What about the final bow ? They could do a 'trick': First final bow as usual for all 11 members of the Touring-Band. Then a final bow with Ronnie & Steve Jordan. After that a (long) final bow by Mick & Keith. How about Mick, Keith, Ronnie do a bow with Charlie on the screen as a final?

QuoteMisterDDDD QuoteRisingStone All this talk and speculation about Charlie sitting in for a couple of songs, e.g. for encore. I’m assuming some of it stems from our shared memory of Mick Taylor’s role during the 50 Years & Counting/14 On Fire tours, his limited and brief appearances to the stage. Personally I don’t think it will happen as Charlie’s case is related to a health issue, whic

Charlie has been doing this for decades. Does he really NEED 2 weeks of rehearsals? Drumming is no different than gitfiddle playing; your legs and arms are ingrained with the moves, like riding a bike. His first show back may be a bit shaky but the second onwards and he'd get his groove back. Those songs are INSIDE of him a part of his very being. He'd be back in the groove ver

QuoteSKILLS Here is my Rationale, irregardless of the Flight, it is only 7 hours, (Xanax I understand can take care of that) after that he could be on a Bus.. How much would you want to see a Gig with Bill playing again, it's been a long time since London 91.. Knock him out at the beginning of the flight and rouse him with a 'Hey, Bill, welcome to New York City!'

QuoteMarkdog As a drummer I think Steve Jordan is a poor choice but likely the only choice if they don't want to postpone. He doesn't play like Charlie at all. Even playing the exact timing he runs on or slightly ahead of the beat, this doesn't allow a lot of groove in the feel of the drums. Snare accented mostly, down beat following quicker than it should to keep with the snare.
