Quoteironbelly Quotetreaclefingers OK, I'm glad we got all that figured out! So to paraphrase Ironbelly, "stick with the vinyl releases!" I'll add the Abbey Road half speed master from a couple of years ago is a good option, if you don't have a clean copy of the original release. Actually, stick to old CBS CDs the old ones from the 80´s ??

QuoteGerardHennessy QuoteDorn I absolutely agree about Rolled Gold. It's about as terrific an overview of those DECCA years as one could wish for. If someone wished for a comprehensive compilation of the Brian-era, it's certainly the direction I'd point them in. Yes, Rolled Gold+ was great but if i remember correctly lots of songs were released here still in the old mono versio

QuoteBig Al Quoteironbelly Thus, for Decca/London period either Singles Collection or Rolled Gold+ are better options. Well, old West German London hot Rocks 1&2 from 1985 too, but for different reasons - wide stereo mixes, flat transfers (and all that MFSL mystery). I absolutely agree about Rolled Gold. It's about as terrific an overview of those DECCA years as one could wish for.

thanks to IRIX and WIREDALLNIGHT problem with the vault is that downloading with filefactory would take ages just for a single CD - let alone a DVD i had seen it on G101 as well but those download options (like rapid gator etc) are also on the extremely slow side. so i was hoping for a wetransfer option

QuoteDoxa GOATS HEAD SOUP was totally 'old fart stuff' at the time. Surely it sold well, as did some totally irrelevant Elvis albums at the time. Actually since 1969 The Stones have not had a number one hit single at their home country. And since 1978 in America. - Doxa wasn´t SMU a No 1 hit in the US ?

Quotewiredallnight It's not a mistake, it's real. Happy and All Down The Line from Houston 1st show are circulating as outtakes from Ladies And Gentlemen. They are also on The Great Lost Live Album (DAC-047). in that typical Philadelphia Special SB quality ? well that would be some good news for a change.....

QuoteHenrikBB QuoteDocChill Later a limited 3LP/DVD set was available, which I bought also. Maybe you'll have luck on eBay or similar . It really seems like this album never had an official physical release . . making it pretty unique, - and to my memory the only Stones album without something you can put on the record shelf. The limited LP/DVD release is on “Red Tounge Records” - an

QuoteGasLightStreet The London mix of Harlem Shuffle, one of only 3 Stones singles to get more than one remix (UOTN and Too Much Blood being the other). not correct. at least 1 other song (Winning Ugly London Mix and NY Mix) got same treatment

QuoteGerardHennessy Your point about guests is entirely aligned with my own. Frankly the thought of a guest-packed album, where The Stones will look like a support act, or backing band, to a bunch of other people horrifies me. The practice is vastly over-used nowadays by so many acts. And it always suggests, at least to me, that the main performer feels they need a 'leg-up' from others

QuoteKurt Quotedoitywoik QuoteHairball Well...Keith's hat is quite stunning! That's true! And I find it a most generous gesture that the other two came to NY just to celebrate Keith's new hat! A new hat is not quite a new album, but us crowd who is starving for 18 years and counting have to be happy with what we have to be happy with! I think that hat has been remixed.

Quotewiredallnight QuoteDorn is this really all from Detroit and really "Excellent Stereo Soundboard recording" as mentioned by dbboots ? Not all, it's from Wolfgang's Vault as all these Detroit CDs (and therefore lossy, no idea which bitrate, but it sounds excellent anyway). The Last 3 tracks are from Houston, dbboots is correct here. DAC-171 includes the missing tracks
