QuoteMathijs Oakland is a bit vague, as apparently Bill Graham had camera's on stage for a video screen above the stage, and videotaped the entire show. If I remember correctly someone posted pictures of the camera's on stage on this board some time ago. Mathijs

QuoteMr. Jimi @ Gazza- how do we have JJF, Carol, and Satisfaction from the Saville Theater? Those three were shot by a news crew. The entire raw footage has circulated for years and aside from some silent b-roll shots (back of the venue, behind the stage, etc) there isn't any additional performance footage.

Quote1specialrider Quoteautomaticchanger The two shows from Auburn on November 14th have yet to surface as well. The circulating source for Dallas is pretty poor but complete.I heard from several trusted sources years ago that a soundboard existed of one of the Auburn shows. However ,nothing seems to have turned up,so who knows. Also,I believe only half of the Phoenix show exists. Dub was busted h

I have a Taylor-related question that I've been meaning to ask here for a while: Does anyone have any solid info on who's playing what on the 1970 version of 'Leather Jacket'? I hear three guitar parts - acoustic, electric rhythm with a Leslie, and the lead part. Is Keith playing the lead? It definitely doesn't sound like Taylor's style, particularly with the repetit

Quoteexilestones Thanks. The sound is pretty good. I put this clip up and just synced the broadcast version of Not Fade Away to make it a bit more enjoyable. I can upload it to wetransfer if anyone wants it.

QuoteKeithNacho There is a photo of Keith with a ES; but the other photo of MT is not a Gibson, but an Epiphone casino. Just take a look to those P90s pickups The Casino and 330 models were nearly identical, but Keith’s Casino had black P90s. Taylor is shown playing the 330 with chrome covered P90s that was used by Brian on the 67 tour and by Keith at Hyde Park.

Quotedonvis Loved it although it’s really for hard-core fans. And I don’t mean to be snarky but did Ringo ever wash his hair once the entire month? I love the Beatles but I love the stones more! I spent half of Episode 2 wondering when Paul, Ringo and John would next wash their hair - seems George was the only one who consistently cared about looking his best for the cameras.

Here's a shot from Chicago with Keith using the Armstrong for Rambler: I'm sure there's been multiple threads where posters like Mathijs have already gone over this, but generally the guitars used for the tour were: -Les Paul Custom, open G, capo 4th for Flash, Street Fighting Man -Sunburst Les Paul, open G for Honky Tonk and Taylor's use on Love in Vain

I recently discovered a digital transfer of the raw 16mm footage shot by WNEW-TV of the performance of Brown Sugar, and managed to round up all other circulating footage and audio to get a complete and accurately synced version of this. I just uploaded it to my youtube channel, but figured I'd share it here as well: Here's the YouTube link:

QuoteThe Joker As for studio version, Exile on Main Street is surely the most horn-oriented album with horns on 80 % of the songs at least... Much more than the four other LPs of Jimmy Miller tenure - Beggars Banquet : no horns - Let it Bleed : only Live with me? - Sticky Fingers : BS, Bitch and I got the Blues - GHS : Coming Down Again (Just listed by memory, did't check) Hear

I don't have it handy at the moment, but I believe in Stanley Booth's book he mentions that Bill and Astrid had gone out shopping in the afternoon and didn't make it back in time for the rehearsal, hence Stu posing with the Mustang Bass.

Quoteexilestones Thank you I've hunted for the '81 Fox Theater show but never found anything good. I know Michael Halsband, the tour photographer was there photographing. Much of Michael's photos are not marked where they are from. Now from this extremely rare video clip, I can see what the Stones wore that night which will help identify the photos. I had a feeling that the

Found a handful of interesting clips from the 78 and 81 shows in Atlanta, from the University of Georgia's archive of vintage WSB-TV tapes. I edited the relevant clips and titled them according to the broadcast dates in the info notes. I don't have as much awareness about circulating footage for post-72 shows, but it doesn't look like anyone else has either show clips online. WSB-T

I was playing around with the brief clip of 'Happy' in CS Blues, to try and sync up the correct audio to the video. The common assumption has always been that 'Brown Sugar' and 'Happy' both featured visuals from the late show at the Forum (06/11/72), with audio from the first Houston show (06/25/72). I matched the Forum audio to the visuals for 'Brown Sugar'

Thanks for sharing, you did a good job with the video, and syncing up multiple analog audio sources is always a major pain. I've always wondered what the issue was with Loving Cup on this tour, it just never seemed to 'click' - maybe it's because the tempo is a bit too slow and the song ends up feeling sluggish? Too bad they didn't work on it for one of the Texas show

Here's an edit I recently did of the clip of Brown Sugar that appears in CS Blues and Crossfire Hurricane. In both, the visuals are from the 2nd Forum show, but the audio is actually from Houston. I synced up the audience source for the 2nd Forum show, and also added in the much higher-res clips from Crossfire, to try and get the most complete performance. There's two brief spots where

Truman was on the Tonight Show a couple times in 72, but July 20th, 1972 is probably the episode where he would've discussed the tour. I've emailed the organization that retains the Carson shows before about getting specific episodes re-circulated, but it never really gets too far.

This is it as far as television clips - my primary interest is Brian/Taylor era, so the 69 and 72 tours are my main focus when searching through those types of collection sites, and the 72 tour was much more of a media-driven endeavor, hence the amount of coverage.

I have quite a bit of clips I can share, just give me a day or two to round it all up. If the Boston coverage you have is video, could you share that? Also, are you sure the 'Toronto' footage is actually from Toronto, and not Montreal? The CBC had some news coverage of the Toronto show but their archives list it as missing. The National Film Board of Canada shot a bit of Montreal fo
