Obviously, things can change, but there are no plans to postpone anything right now.

Long time, no riffing! Here is a quickie look at “Living in the Heart of Love,” Keith’s part plus Mick Taylor solo:

“Living” is live on Spotify. Sounds like Ronnie punched in a solo just before an all-too-brief Mick Taylor solo

QuoteGasLightStreet Quoteterraplane I have the remastered CD and the sound is really good but I am not fond of the album. Don't enjoy the Steel Wheels tracks and I hate the sound of Keith's acoustic. Some electric/gut string hybrid? So I find myself just skipping tracks.I like that they did include rarer songs though. A Sadowsky electric nylon. That was a weird sound. It dates FLA

Relatedly, one thing I love about 25x5’s peek at the Steel Wheels sessions is how Keith counts in “Mixed Emotions.” Kind of hard to tell from the record, where it starts seemingly midway through Charlie’s pickup notes.

Shake Your Money Maker, “plus the hits.” What hits were those? “Remedy,” I will grant, barely. A non-fan *might* have heard it. I’m currently listening to the Tuesday show on satellite’s Classic Rewind. It’s like they reimagined a past for themselves in which they did not willfully f*ck everything up.

I don’t think it was any particular song, but rather the style and technique of boogie-woogie.

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteMelBelli QuoteDandelionPowderman Then we have One More Shot... I *think* he means a rocker that Keith himself sings, not just writes or co-writes. And I don’t think “Thru and Thru” really counts. … In any case, I vaguely recall Keith saying that Mick guards the rockers for himself. You're right. We haven't heard Keith's version of One More Shot yet.

QuoteRocktiludrop Can't Be Seen 1990, the way Keith was playing at this point in time he could have turned Marry Had A Little Lamb into a cool Rocker. Even at the peak of his powers, he still got lost in this arrangement!

I have always liked the song. Carrying over from Winos album, Keith was deliberately avoiding formulaic verse-chorus structure. There’s an A section, a B, and a C. For that reason, they have a hard time doing it live. Too easy to get lost.

Via Ford’s YouTube channel, footage of Darryl recording for saxophonist Bill Evans’ forthcoming album. Evans played on Primitive Cool, including, I think, those amazing sax lines toward the end of “War Baby.” Definitely something for the music geeks to look forward to.

If it’s “Through With Love” you’re thinking about, they do it in C. I’m not sure Keith is playing the right chords at the right time. He seems to have been fond of a minor-seventh voicing with pinky on top string. For Dm7 he’s playing x-5-7-5-6-8. For Em7 everything is moved up two frets: x-7-9-7-8-10.

So I just listened to the “Danger Up Ahead” outtake for the first time. Pretty cool. At the end, Beck plays the melodic phrases he used for “Throwaway.”

Legacy is secure. If they’d released nothing but the singles collected on the London Years boxed set, they’d be legendary. Everything else is a gift. People have been saying their LPs have been crap for 30 years or more. It’s nothing new — and nothing to get hung about.

QuoteEleanor Rigby Yep it has a 'theme' about it...like the Alfie songs. Seems like another song for a movie. There's no Keith on this. No Charlie. Dubious about any Ronnie on this also (although some parts sound RW-like) Still feel the vocals are 85...but happy to be wrong. Interesting... Nobody’s Perfect is absolutely, unmistakably Charlie Watts on drums. Sounds like M

Quotedoitywoik Ronnie found his creative outlet in painting, whatever one thinks of it, and then he has never been a regular songwriter for the Stones anyway. I still think it's a pity that he didn't (couldn't) get more involved here. Yea, this. A lot of potential was left on the table because of this. And it’s not because he wasn’t willing or able to contribute more.

QuoteRG Are the songs already available on spotify? I found a playlist to the songs on spotify, but it's empty.. anyone else? Any user can create a playlist, even one that’s aspirational. But if the content is not licensed to Spotify — and these tracks very definitely are not — the playlist will only exist in your imagination.

I guess this violin on "Too Tight" is the same guy who played on "Any Way You Look At It"? Is it actually a violin?
