Yes. Just completely excellent. Can't begin to describe. It's really always moving perfectly into another level of lovely rolling, beautifully written soulful stuff. Love it madly. That groove is deep. Haha I love the poster who said something like Keith should have done all the singing on Bleed. haha...love to hear some of that.

Nicky's discography. Whoop there it is. Stones, Beatles, Kinks, Who, Zappa, Dusty, Ella Fitzgerald and others...many others...not just overdubs with The Stones, but an essential rhythm member as they worked things up in (arguably) their very best recordings when they were still very much a working recording band with expanding vision and passion. His rhythm is as stunning as his really wo

I feel the smaller the place, the more responsibility an artist takes for authenticity and a reality not hidden by extravaganza and big show dynamics. The more direct contact with an audience of visible fellow breathing humans instead of a swirling mass of greys and black and white...it don't look real to them...

Tea For The Tillerman ('70) was when I first caught up with him and pretty much adored it, I think Wild World hit the charts and that might be the first I heard that led me to want his albums... ... and also the followups Teaser And The Firecat & Catch Bull At Four, then pretty much had lost touch with his catalog...but those albums demonstrated such powerful songwriting and singing, re

Seems the thread title is changing (at least in a post above) to rehearsals now as Summer nears end. Well it was 22 years ago....but Charlie in 1994 was asked about tour prep: _____________________________________________________ What do you have to do to get ready to tour? "There’s no way you can practice doing this. You have to get your hands used to going, but you never really re

I'm really glad you took a look Swiss and I'm hoping your documentary projects in process are making good progress; I know it takes everything and more to do what you're doing! Danny Fields and the bands he promoted and managed pretty much all made rock and roll history with important seminal albums. Will def watch for this doc next month.

It was great fun watching the newly minted LA Rams in the first pre-season game with Dallas. Close to 90,000 there and it was a nail biter. Their 2nd backup QB Sean Mannion comes out of this one looking truly first string brilliant, not what anyone expected. No one went home early. Last time I personally visited that venue G&R was opening for The Stones on Bill's last tour.

I really like what they were doing live in 66. I've listened to Hawaii several times and get a great kick out it. I like Got Live If You Want It too, also from '66. I know the Stones disowned it but I enjoy it to this day very much.

Quoterebelrebel Quotewhitem8 The biggest thing I have noticed about mono mixes from The Beatles and other sixties groups is they sound more powerful. Far more full on guitar in the mix. And more bass. For instance The Beatles Mono collection, all from their first album up to Revolver are far superior in Mono. None of that crazy stereo separation with drums and bass on one side and guitars and voi

Releasing in theaters and streaming sources Sept. 30th. Their blurb: "Since 1966, Danny Fields has played a pivotal role in music and “culture” of the late 20th century: working for The Doors, Lou Reed, Nico, Judy Collins and managing groundbreaking artists like The Stooges, The MC5 and the Ramones. Danny Says follows Fields from Harvard Law dropout, to the Warhol Silver Factory, to D

so painful you don't even wanna really go near it. That's what Cohen does in a LOT of his amazing and truly brilliant, challenging lyrics too. (I listened to The Future track again recently. whoa) His entire life journey and ongoing fascination. He is always relevant across decades of work. This is such sad heartfelt stuff wow... ...I'm glad she got the letter. I can only hope h

a pretty comprehensive site; maybe some fans will get a kick out of it... ...was scrolling through their history of releases during different eras, seeing the covers of albums/track listings etc... I think probably every great landmark studio musician of the times, including many who moved onto their own fame, recorded for them at one time or another too.

Quotefrankotero ... .Plus I wonder if they're thinking/comparing to The Beatles last record "let it be". Here they have a chance where The Beatles didn't, plus they didn't know about legacy and all of that, or did they? I'm pretty sure most of Let It Be was recorded before the Abbey Road sessions, tho Let It Be was the last official release. I think Abbey Road is

Quotesouldoggie Brian missed a series of shows on the second USA tour, November, 1964 This is about as unprofessional as you can get, I don't think Mick and Keith ever forgave him. Those guys were hungry and the band was still pretty much a second tier British Invasion band at the time. Brian stayed in Chicago, not performing the following four dates (five shows): 8th November: Chicago,

I would rather be grateful for what they have given us, a lifetime of work and excitement, and the thrills they are still giving us, and not think of an ending for music that's ever-lasting, nor for anything other than their enduring health and happiness.

Thinking of the lyrics and how the top ad people in these campaigns are clever with all the psyop and subliminal tricks of the trade, these lyrics describing a certain woman he met at a reception, and that is where he probably met her and bill more than once...she has blood on her hands! ...and at her feet was a footloose man... ...well the definition of footloose might have bill clinton'
