Quotechatoyancy Keith is more involved with this song than has been reported. This is how close Keith and Mick were and still are. Mick was covering for a very shy Keith when he said that he wrote the lyrics which he considered "very gentle and loving about friendships in the band." Actually Keith was the one who wrote the lyrics about "standing in the doorway waiting for a friend,

QuoteDandelionPowderman Yaaaaaaaawn... I don't know what's wrong with you, but I thought of these comparisons as a valid contribution – especially after you falsely commented that Keith didn't do the licks live. If people don't listen, they might actually believe what you're saying. I don't care who plays on WOAF. I thought for years that Jagger played the g

This is a new movie just out in theaters in the US Tilda Swinton is a rock singer and Ralph Fiennes a music produce who worked with the stones. It is all completely fictional. The movie features "worried about you" prominently, has a scene where Fiennes dances to emotional rescue, "heaven" is also included, and there is a scene where Fiennes describes working with the st

QuoteCome On My single album: A-side: 1. Rocks Off 2. Sweet Black Angel 3. Shake Your Hips 4. Happy 5. Let it Loose B-side: 1. Sweet Virginia 2. All Down the Line 3. Shine a Light 4. Stop Breaking Down 5. Rip This Joint This is like taking einstein's "e=mc^2" and saying you just like the "e" part. It's the whole thing that makes it genius, cut i

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteTurner68 What does "done up in made done up in rubber" mean? Duct tape or lingerine? Ah see you knew what I meant despite my fat thumbs typing wrong.... Nicely done. So this is the thread for discussing "undercover"? I like the new approach of disguising topics by giving them titles unrelated to the discussion ;-)

QuoteHMS In fact there are almost more bad songs on it than on Voodoo Lounge. B2B contains some of the worst, should say most unpleasing songs of their entire career: Thief In The Night, Always Suffering, Out Of Control, Saint Of Me, Already Over Me. A quintet of ear-bleeding pain. Everything else is brilliant or at least very good. My favorite tracks are Too Tight and Flip The Switch foll

QuoteWhale Always loved this. Its better than flashpoint or shine a light or no security in my opinion. That's like saying a brick wall is more scenic than a prison yard.

just saw that! we can assume that later this week there will be an official announcement! i think these little teasers are mostly so that billionaires with birthday parties coming up know that the stones are available for hire.

QuoteHonkeyTonkFlash OK - maybe I'm beating a dead horse here but the dramatic change in Keith's live vocals in 1978 always intrigued me. Maybe getting off heroin had nothing to do with it. I know he was still doing loads of coke, which ain't exactly good for the voice. I just find it odd that someone can have such a high, pure singing voice that doesn't deepen until age 34. H

absolutely awful music, one of the sure signs that the band was in decline. calling it a cheap, lazy attempt to duplicate the feel and spirit "moonlight mile" would be too kind, but certainly the horrendous "dancing with mr. d" is to SFTD what "winter" is to moonlight mile.

I just checked into this hotel. You pull up and there is a big sign that says: Valet "It is good to be anywhere" - Keith Richards In the lobby is a mural of photos of numerous rock icons including mick in the Stars and Stripes hat. fun place to stay, and no better welcome upon arrival than the Keith quote on the sign for all guests to see.

QuoteDGA35 One Tap moment that could be Stones related is when they're discussing the cover for Smell The Glove. Bobbi Fleckman freaks out saying You put a greased naked woman on the cover on a leash and are forcing her to smell a glove, you don't find that sexist? Kind of like the promo ads for Black and Blue! Then they compromise and Smell The Glove turns out to be totally black, t

Quotestonesstein Quotefrenki09 Quotestonesstein This is a great topic! Thanks so much for doing this. There are some great records in this list. 1. GHS - Starf%cker is among their best tracks, ever, and (to me) the only lemon is Coming Down Again (I know, 20 of y'all will say "I like that song!"). They still play Doo Doo Doo Doo, Angie, and they dusted off Silver Train afte

QuoteDandelionPowderman The Brian era is not one single era, musically. There are at least three, and they're all crucial for the band evolving. The more I listen to the Stones, the more convinced I get of late Brian era albums being the best they ever released. I love SF, Exile and SG, but Beggar's Banquet - what an album! The Satanic Sessions should be the bible for Stones fa

QuotePietro The drug bust got us the song "Keith Don't Go" by Nils Lofgren (“Keith don’t go, don’t go to Toronto”). Anybody remember it? It also got us "Before They Make Me Run," one of my favorites. yes, great tune and tribute by Nils. haven't seen him play it live recently, has anyone?

better question: what was spinal tap's most rolling stones moment. my vote: the discussion about the catering backstage. i felt like it was an excellent mick jagger impersonation.
