I felt very sad when I heard the news yesterday evening. My thoughts are with the people in Paris.

QuoteHairball Don't think I've ever heard this (or at least don't remember hearing it), but while looking around on youtube I found this: Can anyone verify if this is actually what it says it is? Title of video is: Rolling Stones - Torn and Frayed (1972) Taylor and Richards Jamming. Caption under video says: Rolling Stones American Tour Rehearsals, Sumet-Burnet Recording Studi

QuoteSilver Dagger One of the loveliest songs on Exile and absolute proof that the band could master country/country-rock music. Fantastic lyrics too - most probably written by Mick. They really tie in well with the album's general feeling of alienation, isolation, and beat up outsiders making the best of a tough old world. The song's genesis is mysterious - there aren't any

one of the better keith interviews IMO. Not the usual Keith blah blah talk. You see the love for the guitar in his eyes when he starts to play and talk about it. A warm interview in that way....oh and indeed you were not the first one to post it, but that's no problem in this case haha

a great example of the early r&b Stones, how they sounded way back then... A joy for my ears.

I like the song, a good old rock n roll song. A punching opening riff, to Ronnies razor sharp solo, a good example of how a Stones song should sound.

I think he did a great job keeping the band together, becoming the glue between Mick and Keith. I think his humour and positivism sure would lighten up everything between the bandmembers. Although he had his drugs and drinking problems, he has cleaned up, and he is a great contributor to the band's live sound nowadays. I know he isn't a Mick Taylor kind of player, but I like his funky n

Rory and Keith were the main reasons I picked up a guitar. I love the heart and soul he would put in his performances, he would give it all every time. He never wanted to be popular or score a number one hit. He just wanted to play his music and didn't care about the commercial media circus about it. Never seen him live unfortunately.

some songs on it are really not my favourite songs. SOL, Sweet Neo Con and both Keith songs are very weak songs IMO. I don't like how the album sounds, too compressed, no layers (Crosseyed Heart has more layers, and warmth to it I think). But I do like the basic approach of the album, just the core band, not to much extra musicians. And that gave us some fine songs like Rough Justice, Lau

I like the song, not something new, maybe Stones-by-numbers but it's simple rock n roll. Nothing more, nothing less and that's something I like about it. It does not have to be that difficult, every Stones album has some of these songs they could probably do in their sleep. Good ol'rock n roll, but I like it

It's a good thing too count them in also. For me personally the EP's and live albums would be more interesting. The opinions of some of the posters here are well thought, good explained opinions. Which is very nice to read and will give me sometimes new insights in albums. And maybe put the solo albums also in the list, should be interesting to hear someones view about the lesser know

QuoteHairball Makes sense to me gallagher, and the fact that Mick has a stockpile of demos already prepared/recorded for a new Stones album doesn't bode well for much contribution from Keith. But Keith is sitting pretty right about now, and as he said smilingly in a recent interview when asked about his reaction to Crosseyed Hearts overwhelming positive reaction (to paraphrase), "I

a mix of a Keith solo album and a Mick solo album with some songs they did together IMO. I quite like the album, but haven't listened to it a while. It could have been better I think. Some songs are cheesy (Always Suffering, Already Over Me) or are Stones by numbers (Too Tight) but in a strange way I like them. Might As Well Get Juiced is not my cup of tea, but at least they tried something

On the 1971 they were more loose and funkier than the two previous tours (Europe 1970 and USA 1969) where they were more 'dangerous' in their music. I like the approach on both of these ways playing songs. Some songs became better like Midnight Rambler. After these tours the setlists became more predictable, which they changed for the Licks tour. Which was much more fun for fans who we

I think there are songs (indeed the mentioned Trouble) could be a Stones song, but Robbed Blind I'm not so sure off. Maybe Mick would make it too cheesy, and with Keiths smoked, whispering voice it fits perfect with the song IMO. Maybe Keith gave up on bringing a lot of fresh ideas and standing on his grounds that this or that song has to be on a Stones album. If I remember correctly Don

My first album as a 'fan'. I bought it the day it came out, even listened some tracks of the album in a record store before it got officially released. They had a promo copy with a few songs of the VL album, which I was allowed to listen to one time. I like the album very much, although I haven't listened to it a long time. I liked the songs on it, but Sparks Will Fly and Suck on

In my opinion it's not an album what will shock the world, but I love it. It's got a great groove and feel over it. That's what important to me. I love almost every song of it, Irene and Blues in th
