I know what you are saying. If I could redo, I most likely would have gone to Bogota, but couldn't make the dates work. I can say by experience that I have personally witnessed no crime in Cuba..things are really under control. One thing, about the Visa, my husband, flying with an Irish passport via KLM last November from Dublin-Amsterdam-Cuba was denied boarding by KLM in Dublin due to VISA problems, even though the web site said he would pay the fee and be able to enter...
