“A strange omertà governs super-fans”. Why? They are listening from a public street! Why not share the information with others? It’s not like someone is breaking a non-disclosure agreement.

I’m dying of pancreatic cancer. I’m hooked up with a make-a-wish type project that will get me and my son to any concert within a reasonable radius of home (Philadelphia suburbs). I suspect someone here knows something. Do I have any chance of using my wish to see the Stones in the north east US this year? I’m 14 months into chemo, and pancreatic cancer has one of the worst survival ra

Why is everything such a secret? I don’t mean from the Stones camp itself. I mean from people that run or post to the board. Isn’t the point to gather scraps of information and share? So if someone knows what was rehearsed, why not share it with the board? I’m in Pennsylvania. If I was in UK, and I knew where the rehearsal was, I’d be there every day recording and streaming a

Moved on to side two of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Cranking up “Killing Yourself to Live.” Seems an apt title as I await resumption of chemo therapy for my pancreatic cancer.

ZZ Top. LIVE Greatest Hits from Around the World. 2 LP set. Jeff Beck guests on two tracks. Great set list. The boys are all showing their age as tempos slow down, but without compromising things too much. Great for unwinding with a few beers after a hard day at work - and can be had for a very reasonable price on Amazon considering it’s a double lp.

I have Amazon Prime and added Amazon music for $3.99 a month. Plays thru my Alexa device. Has access to almost every cd Amazon sells. You can request individual songs, artists, genres, etc. “Alexa - play 70’s hard rock”, “Alexa - play Live in Texas by The Rolling Stones” etc.

I just purchased a copy of this item. SF pitcure disc My copy seems to have some issues. The A/B sides are reversed, it has a different version of Brown Sugar (I think it's the Eric Clapton version), and it has Sister Morphine instead of Let It Rock. The printing on the disc says it has Let It Rock - like all the Spanish versions of the LP. Does anyone else have this picture disc

I'm about 100 pages into this book myself. Over the weekend I picked up a nice used vinyl of Undercover. I just pulled it out to play and much to my surprise, I found a copy of the flyer advertising subscriptions to Beggars Banquet, as described in the book!

What about Time is on my Side? From Wikipedia "The Rolling Stones recorded two versions of the song in 1964. The first version (a looser arrangement featuring a briefer, organ-only intro), recorded in London in June 1964, was released in the US in 1964, as a single from their album 12 X 5. The second version (more tightly arranged and featuring guitar in the intro), recorded in Chicago

It's here. Got my copy from Amazon yesterday. Too tired to deal with it yesterday. Opened it this morning - comes with the orignal artwork and postcards, and a mastering certificate, and digital download card. Started side 1 - put the needle down - had to check to make sure the amp was on and volume up. There was zero noise on the run-in groove until the song started, Sounded great

Wow - I completely forgot about this Twisted Sister cover. It is a good one. And I used to own it on a 12" maxi-single. I was huge into Twisted around the time Stay Hungry was on the charts.

Nice to see others have some info on this rare LP. Sounds great on my stereo setup, and as I said initially, it does a fine job of filling in the gaps created by missing the first LP on my copy of Hot Rocks vinyl.

I've re-read the entire thread from top to bottom. I think I am going to settle on the Half-Speed version. $14 cost differential. That's a day's lunch money. It will be on my turntable by Monday afternoon. I had chemo today (pancreatic cancer) and by Monday I'll be on the couch in recovery mode - all my energy will be gone by that point. I'll have something to li

US Amazon is currently selling Exile vinyl based on the 2010 reissue for $24.88. Includes MP3 download. They are also selling the Abbey Road 1/2 speed master based on a 2016 reissue for $38.19 with no MP3 download. I already have a CD of Exile purchased in 1990. My question is - what version of the vinyl should I get? I'm leaning towards the 1/2 speed because the regular version is

I found a copy of this at a local used vinyl store today. I have never seen this record before. My vinyl copy of Hot Rocks is missing the first LP, and this fills in most of the missing tracks. Canadian pressing from 1977. Greatest Hits Volume I Originally it was a 2 LP set, but the first record was issued individually. This is noted in the fine print on the back cover.

I personally find it difficult to overlook the fact that Waddy plead NO CONTEST in 1998 to possession of child pornography - found on his computer - and in printed hard copy at his house - found when the police arrested him for what was on his computer. That's the part that gets me - perhaps he "accidentally" downloaded something (not) - but to have printed copies of it ? That i

That Seattle release ROCKS! Deus Ex Machina is the bootleg name. There seem to have been a lot of recent Zeppelin high quality bootlegs showing up on You Tube recently. And lots of old bootleg video as well. For some reason, the copyright police are really cracking down on any bootlegs with Stairway in them, so that track is often just removed from the recent new uploads to get around that

Saw - Voodoo and B2B (Veterans stadium PHL). No Security - from a luxury suite at the Wachovia center in PHL! Licks - 2/3 of the arena show in PHL. Had to leave during CYHMK because my wife was sick (not sick drunk - sick with the flu). She tried to hang in but could not. So I would add the last 1/3 of that PHL to my 'wish list'. Also on the 'wish I saw list' was t

What if the Stones adopted the Grateful Dead model for the three shows in Paris? 3 days. About 20 songs each night. No, or minimal repeated songs ( maybe play Jjf twice or something). Keith keeps his set. Come up with the 3 set lists. Nothing totally off like Gomper. 3 valid sets that would work over the 3 day period - minimal repeats - but would still entertain the average Joe who kno
