Mixed first impression. The main riff is nice and catchy, but we're straight into pop music and the intensity suddenly drops off. And I don't know, it's as if two different songs had been (clumsily) combined. Inferior to Rough Justice, Oh No, Not You Again and Living in a Ghost Town for sure...

The Stones can count on a complacent press. Heard this morning on the radio, based on the 15-second extract, "the Stones as effective as ever". 15 seconds and no listen to the album yet. And the same old talk about their age and longevity. No need to worry about reviews of the new album, then.

There are so many hosts who talk more than their guests, who force themselves to laugh (even at their own jokes), in short, who overact !

Rolling Stone magazine described LZ as "the heaviest band of all time", "the biggest band of the Seventies", and "unquestionably one of the most enduring bands in rock history".

At the press conference, it will be interesting to observe the relationship between Mick and Keith, the way they talk about the album and the creative process, and of course their perception of Andrew Wattt's role... And its importance!

Quotehockenheim95 Quotepowerage78 Let's wait for the album, but personally I doubt Keith's ability to compose, whereas Mick has never stopped experimenting and working. He's the band driving force. And pity again, no credit for Ronnie. I think Keith proved on Crosseyed Heart! Yes, but 8 years ago.

Quotekid killowatt According to The Sun’s music industry insider: “The Stones are so proud of Hackney Diamonds and they cannot wait for their fans to hear it.” PROUD !!! No it's true?!!! In the middle of promoting an album, I expected the Stones to say that it was a bad album and fans would quickly forget about it! Unbelievable!

Only great-awesome songs, best album ever. Seriously, given the wait, I can't wait to discover this album. And to see how Steve sounds and whether or not it differs from Charlie's groove.
