Not sure how IORR placed in the charts as a single, loved the production and the song. Sure, Short & Curlies is a rocker by numbers but damn the Stones still make it work and I like it more today than 1975.

The mix has always been a problem for me. Muddy, even the official release.

Quoteab QuoteMaindefender I was interested in the MH deluxe but unfortunately only available in the US as an import, which means good luck finding it. To my knowledge Lolo has never been remastered and I'm really hoping that it does because it's by far my favorite Kinks album. Muswell Hillbillies is easy to find on www.amazon.co.uk. I get shipments from them in the States regularly.

Quoteflacnvinyl QuoteBungo Is it just me or does anyone else see/hear a similarity between Arcade Fire and Roxy Music? A good friend of mine gave me a CD of Roxy Music in the early 2000s. I never saw the comparison (and I hate Roxy Music) BUT I will say you are not alone! A friend I really respect too! LOVE the new album... Right up there with Tame Impala's latest Like what I'

QuoteSpud QuoteDandelionPowderman this one could very well be an album of cover songs... Don't mind if it is. Keith has proven to be a very interesting interpreter of other folks' songs when we've had the opportunity to hear him do it. He did the Aaron Neville thing earlier in the year, so he's touched that style. Whatever it is, BRING IT ON!!

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotegotdablouse Honestly there's little reason to think that we're going to get anything better from Keith at this point than TIS or MO...and the fact that a cover is the first single ? Dunno...it seems like Keith's "ideas" would be better used in the the Stones context, Mick did manage to somewhat salvage OMS. What's odd is that Mick did say

Like the groove of this song from the get go. An homage to James Brown.

Bridges sounds fresh every time I play it. My daughter's liked Anybody at the time, being teens at the time says a lot. IMO How Can I Stop is a masterpiece, the extended non album version of Out of Control rocks and Saint Of Me should be reintroduced on tour.

Quotekowalski QuoteStoneage In that case it's geriatric rock then. But I don't think geriatric rock brings something new to the table or defines the new decade. What I was trying to put forward is that i believe that the latest decade has been very weak when it comes to creating new trends or music genres of some substance. Or maybe it's just me getting old? Maybe there was no ne

I like music that doesn't get radio airplay but is still damn good IMO. Radio is pretty lousy but the internet has great resources. Bands today are far better than Duran Duran, but I never cared for that era. There been a lot of great stuff in 2013!! I must admit being more receptive to synth stuff, it seems to fit better: Diamond Rugs Divine Fits Elvis Costello & The Roots Deer

Just listened to the newly remastered London Calling. It's beautiful, can't believe how improved both the vocals and instruments are improved in the best way possible. Mick Jones should remaster the Sticky Fingers release!!!!!

QuoteLeonidP QuoteMaindefender ... I like Hurricane, definitely to the point...haha. Wow, I didn't think it was possible to like Hurricane ... its got nothing going for it. Not even a real song, poor melody, blah lyrics, etc. Raw delta blues baby!! One take?

QuoteDoxa If we little bit open up the context here, and look what Keith talked in LIFE, and watching his post-BRIDGES TO BABYLON solo song section - "Losing My Touch", "Hurricane", "This PLace Is Empty", "Infamy"; four songs in 15 years, and none of them any spectacular (to put it mildly) - one might imply that probably he emptied his creative pockets in B

There's a classic WNEW radio broadcast from '79(?) that needs to be unleashed. Strummer's ad-libbing is ridiculous, he called out tapers as "Johnny Greens"!!!! Band is relaxed and the music is

QuoteBlackHat Quotebv I would say that a "fan" that says he/she does not need any new albums is a "has been" fan. Sucking in the seventies may be. Personally I would say that if Mick & Keith and the rest of the band want to enjoy a few months in a studio with the world's best engineers and including Mick Taylor guest playing, I can't see any harm in that. If y
