I always loved the band but was put off by the horrible way they treated Bun E. Carlos so Rick's son could be the drummer. There's more to it than that but evidently you don't want to cross Robin.

I got into them when "In Color" came out. The first time I saw them was opening for KISS on the "Love Gun" tour. CT were way better. When I was in high school, they were the band that opened for everyone. Saw them several times in those days, most memorably 2 nights of a bill of Ted Nugent/Cheap Trick & opening a fairly obscure band from Australia called AC/DC. Bon Scott e

The new record is the best they've done in 30 years. & the Troxy show is stellar. Looks like Robert is going for a glorious final act. He says he's going to retire at about 70.

QuoteTheBluesHadaBaby Have had great luck with concerts so far this year. The two most recent, Brigitte Calls Me Baby on Sep 22 in DC, and The Beaches on Sep 27 in Richmond, both were excellent. Upcoming: October 21 - Nick Lowe and Los Straightjackets - DC PBS News Hour recent segment on Lowe: Small 450-cap venue; would love to get my 40+ yr old Rockpile and Labour of Lust signed, but

Quote24FPS Although I liked a couple of the songs when it came out, I never find myself wanting to listen to the album. It's a weird one. Not bad, like Undercover, or a lot of Dirty Work, just strange for a Stones album. Like they were trying to sound current, with up to date production, but it didn't really work. I first heard Anybody Seen My Baby on vacation in Amsterdam. My god,

QuoteVoodooLounge13 The last great album. I think I'd agree to that to a certain extent. The tour & No Security were certainly good. Out of Control & Saint of Me were both great live. On a good night they would certainly lock in the groove on those. Anybody Seen My Baby not so much, both album & live.

I like the first 2 albums, especially the first one. Luckily I saw them during this era. After that, it's more like the occasional song. I'd probably go if they played an arena with sort of reasonable pricing. I don't think they're going to fill stadiums in the US with the pricing they had in the UK unless they had stellar opening acts.
