The Who on 9/27 followed by Neil Young on 10/4. Need to get the ears rested for that week. Rockin' in the free world indeed! PS: going to Vegas next weekend & Blue Oyster Cult are playing on Fremont Street for free. Probably will hit that as the price is right. Reliving my semi-sordid youth, haha.

Midnight Oil was an awesome band. Very unique & the records still sound good today. I got to meet them once & they were very nice guys, too. Always a bonus. They did hurt me once though. Toward the end, they played a pretty small club in Seattle. The show was pretty loud during the set, then came the encores. Think they turned it up to 11. I literally felt something pop in my ear. Still g

One of my least favorite Stones songs of all time. Actually made me angry that they played it on the "50" tour. So many great songs that could've been played in that slot, even in the dance-y genre. That being said, I like a lot of the rest of that album but I always hit skip when that comes up. Campy garbage. Just my opinion. Everyone entitled to their own.

AXS is also showing the film. Really enjoyed it, think I'm going to get the book. Carol Kaye is a totally bad ass bass player!

"He Stopped Loving Her Today" is so awesome it won song of the year 2 years in a row at one of the country award shows. Song is so morbid its almost goth. Cool!

QuoteHMS It is a fantastic album indeed, RogerĀ“s best, imho. But I can see no reason for remastering an already fantastic sounding album. Dont think there is much to be improved soundwise. Who knows, maybe the cut the DR and brickwalled this masterpiece... Most remastered versions are not really an improvement. So I dont think I will buy this new version. I think it is only a cheap way for Roger

Just got the blu-ray audio yesterday. Outstanding! I liked the record when it first came out but hadn't listened to it in years. It is holding up real well, indeed. Helps that Jeff Beck is on a big chunk of it & absolutely shredding!

It's a great album that keeps getting better with each listening. Rockier than the past few, they are letting Nels Cline cut loose more. Jay Bennett was an immense talent but as a live band, this lineup is taking no prisoners. I really like how they kept the new record a secret & didn't play any of the new songs until the day the cd appeared on the net. Pretty cool. I got a tape of

QuoteTate Quotecrholmstrom Wilco on 8/11. They are absolutely one of my favorite bands. Looking forward to it! Yeah, I went to Solid Sound, Wilco's big festival in Western Massachusetts, this summer for the first time. I have seen Wilco a number of times, and the band just keeps evolving and growing on me more and more. Have fun on 8/11! I am hoping for some more dates this fall/winter

RIP to a great player. I have a sorta humorous story regarding Yes. Up until my early 20's I was a prog rock fan. Kind of outgrew it with the exception of maybe King Crimson. Anyway, Yes had a lot to do with me moving on from that genre. I had seen them a few times (Going for the One & 90125 tours - both fine shows). So, there was a tour they did that was mega-Yes where they had all the

I think Ed Sheeran has some talent. Nothing I'm going to run out & buy but he doesn't offend me. He was very good on the Stevie Wonder tribute that was on around the time of the Grammy's.

I had an issue with Ticketmaster regarding ADA seating at a NFL game. I ended up contacting our local TV news consumer advocates. Was on TV & it ended up getting to the CEO of TM. I ended up with a personal apology, a big change in the way ADA seats were handled system wide & a free prime ticket to the game of the year. Get the media involved!

the earnest young mens with beards syndrome. bleh! the wimpification of this generation. don't get it. i saw them supposedly "rock out" on tv. i say hardly. someone oughtta lock them in a room & make them listen to exile on main street until they pee on themselves. just my opinion. its all good. be & do what you want, just as long as i don't have to watch or listen in

Steely Dan, London 1974. Unreal good. Short lived live lineup included 2 drummers (Jeff Porcaro! RIP) & Michael McDonald. I cannot fathom them being the opening act for Bread on a tour. That must've been a massacre.

I got to hang with Bobby once. He was very personable & funny. He is missed hugely. His autobiography is an entertaining read. He had a good run.

The riff at the beginning is an all timer. Perhaps the drug references kept it off the radio early on. I saw them play it on the Licks tour in Vegas. Ronnie did a fine job even if he was pretty much sticking to Mick Taylor's original guitar.

Don't know much about Italian food in that area but there is plenty of incredible Mexican cuisine! You will be able to find anything you want within easy walking distance of the stadium. I have been to baseball games there a few times when I was in town for conventions. Really nice area for pre & post show fun. & the stadium is really unique. Think the sound should be good. Have fun!

QuoteMisterDDDD One of the real thrills I used to get in going to Rolling Stones concerts at various venues, was getting there real early to snag one of the Venue Specific shirts.. I'm not talking about the venue specific ones of today that all of us can now buy online.. I mean ones where the ONLY way to get was to actually be there.. They didn't make many and they would sell out
