QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteMidnight Toker The Cult is a great band live. Met Ian and Billy a few years ago and they were great guys! Great band indeed, but Ian is often the weak link live. In the studio he's probably one of the best singers in the world, imo. I saw them when "She Sells Sanctuary" (good song) came out. Ian was goose stepping around in pseudo nazi gear. Not goo

Great day of NFL action yesterday. Lots of close games. My AFC faves, the Raiders, put up a valiant effort against the Steelers. I think the Raiders are going to be a force to reckoned with next season & definitely not to be taken lightly this year. I did pretty good on Pick 'em. Only missed 3. Given the amount of upsets, not too bad. Tonight is kind of a yawner but that's ok. I nee

Quotetatters Quotecrholmstrom Quotetatters Finally getting to see this show two weeks from tonight in Detroit. Anyone else seen it, this year or last? I saw it about a year ago in Seattle. Phenomenal! The man over 3.5 hours. Really top notch band. My 2nd Stevie show, the 1st being about 1980. He is a national treasure. I wanted to see him last year, but something must have come up. I think ma

QuoteBluzDude Primal Scream is the ticket as far as I am concerned. I'm going to the hollywood Paladium show on the 20th. Since it's kind of being billed as co-headliner thing, I really hope we get more than 45 minutes of Primal Scream. I like the Cult ok but when I've seen them they have been kind of so-so. I'll check them out but may leave early. Big weekend with Seattl

Quotetreaclefingers Funnily enough I was debating on whether to go to a Cult show next weekend! Go! Primal Scream! Primal Scream are awesome live. They have only played Seattle once before. Truly memorable show at the old Off Ramp. Need I say more? I'm seeing the show on Saturday night.

Red Hot Chili Peppers from Calgary in 2006. The genius that is John Frusciante. RHCP have started releasing some archive shows. The sound is phenomenal. This is from the "Stadium Arcadium" tour, IMO a very underrated album. I will admit that it is too long but those songs sound really good live. Makes me sad that John doesn't really want to play guitar like that anymore. Very origi

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteNatlanta re the London games... If the TV revenue is there, it's a win. The travel is not a hardship, people do 2-3 day trans-Atlantic business trips all the time and for a lot less money. Like the Jags as a sorta-London-based team because a) Jacksonville doesn't care... I disagree. The travel is a hardship considering what the players do since people who

Marshawn Lynch (& Russell Okung) stayed in Texas with WR Ricardo Lockette as he had neck surgery following Sunday's very scary hit against the Cowboys. This is bye week for the Hawks & the Beast chose to stay with his friend rather than go on vacation. The national perception of the Beast is often at odds with the reality. He's a leader on the team & we are lucky to have him

Definitely a fan friendly band. I seem to gravitate toward bands like that. For instance, they allow taping at their shows with few restrictions. & keep their costs down for music, tshirts, tickets to realistic levels. I do not love spending $35-40 for a tshirt. Some other bands that operate in a similar way that are amongst my faves are Wilco & the Flaming Lips. I really like how DBT han

QuoteJohnnyBGoode Marry Me is one of my favorite riffs from any band. Gravity's Gone is one of my favorite lyrics ever. PS - Anyone a fan of The White Buffalo? Both of those songs are on the new cd(s). I will have to check out the White Buffalo. From reading your posts think I can trust your recommendation.

Looks like it was a fantastic show. I'm a pretty big Jah Wobble fan. Kind of rare in the states. I forget the exact title but I found his autobiography in a used book store. It was a good read. Very interesting life. Another 1 of my favorite big in Britain not so much in the states bands is actually playing here in 2 weeks. Primal Scream. They've only played in Seattle once before when

Quoteumakmehrd Yes back to 4 n 4 with a bye week - the hawks will be a different team for the second half of the season... Middle of season bye week not a bad thing. Last year it was too early (even though it worked out). I've got pretty good tix for the Arizona game on 11/15. This should be a knock down, drag out war. The 12s get a week to rest up too! I don't consider myself a 12. T

QuoteSilver Dagger No way. I don't believe The Rolling Stones have ever been blown off stage by anyone. I was there and can vouch how great both bands were but to say that Skynyrd edged the Stones is ridiculous. Even at their most sloppiest, especially in the mid-70s, the Stones were simply unassailable. These comments are good for provoking a reaction and a thread and like Dave G stated

QuoteBig Al I'm onboard a London-bound train this moment, observing that there are a few NFL fans making their way to Wembley. The sport in not a particularly big-deal in the United Kingdom, but there are followers and, of course, some novelty and cultural value. I know little-to-nothing about American football, but would certainly enjoy the experience of viewing it in a live-setting. Wh

Rainy & windy in Seattle. A good November storm a day early. Is ok as long as the power & cable tv are happening. I haven't had to run the furnace this year. No snow is key for me. Wet & cold are literally painful for me.

QuoteGasLightStreet Brady hasn't had a debilitating neck injury and surgeries... nor does he have garbage for knees like Manning does. All that talk about Drew Brees getting old. He was injured. Brady is older - and he continues to improve. Yet when NE lost their weapons everyone picked them to suck. They didn't. So many stupid talking heads about nothing they know about. Brad

QuoteGasLightStreet It's all Roger Goodell's baby, those London games. He loves to waste time and money. I see New England handled Miami just fine... as expected. I don't much care for NE but will admit that Tom Brady is blowing me away this year. Look at the vast gulf between Brady & Peyton Manning (they are pretty close to same age). Not to mention Super Bowl wins. B
