QuoteMingSubu gibsonman, what amps are you running those through? I use a Fender deVille 212. Mainly because it`s what I bought some years ago. I like the clean sound and think it takes pedals well. I do not like the dirty channel and never use it. I have been thinking about buying a new amp (Vox ac30 etc) but I kind of have got used to this one and with some nice pedals I get much of the sound

QuoteMingSubu I like that LP Special! The red hollowbody, who is the maker? I can't make out the name. Yes, the LP special is my first guitar With P90`s. And I love it!! A real rockaxe!! The red one is a Vester. One of my first guitars. Sounds great and nice to play. I tune both open G (Lp Special and the Telecaster thinline) and standard tuning. The Goldtop is my main guitar fo

Vinyl / DVD set and on my DVD the Volume of the audio is sometimes high and in the next moment low. Is it only to my ears or is it on all dvs of this concert film? I recognized the same volume problems on my DVD. Very disappointing and annoying. Same here, but after I s

Nice thread, DandelionPowderman!!! I am for sure gonna post something here soon, but these days my band are recording some demo stuff and we deleted the youtube vids we had. So when we`re done I will post it here.... How great would it be if we could all hook up and make one musicfestival with all of our stonesinspired music? It would be a good happening with all the iorrians.... Anyway

The fact is that you can play all Stones songs in standard tuning, but it won`t be the right sound. (just try Wild Horses in both tunings and anyone would agree to that). Therefore I think that the answer to your question is: all of the songs played with open G! I do the same thing as 71Tele, I don`t take of the low E, but tune it to D. And for some of the songs I have made for my band I also

QuoteDandelionPowderman The caribbean swing on some of the tracks (HS, HN, CO makes this album quite unique. It suits the Stones well, imo. Agree, it is a different album from the Stones, and it suits the Stones from that era very well....

Quotenobodysbusiness I get totally bewildered on a day to day basis by the people who are so negative about the Stones and here we go again over the release of this new DVD set. This is for the thousands who were there and the thousands who weren't. It's not about wether it was the best show they ever played, it's about this Show. The two Hyde Park shows were fantastic and worth ev

This was for a long time my worst Stonesalbum. But it has grown on me. I guess my musictaste is developing and I always search for new things in the music I listen to. As an example: the guitarsound on Hand of fate is fantastic. And Hot Stuff really has a good groove with nice guitar-riffs.This was something I didn`t hear when I first bought the album, but when listening to it now I really enjoy

Great album! Heartbraker is one of my favorite stones songs. There`s something about the sound on that one that appeals to me. I also like Dancing with Mr. D. And although Star Star seems pretty simple I also like that one. It sort of brings that little good old rocknroll touch to the album.

Brown Sugar! Open G tuned guitar riff, easily recognizable as a Stones song and with a good rocknroll drive.

The first thing I noticed when listening to the album was the drums. I agree, the sound is really good. Charlie is always very steady, but this mix really serves his drumming right Love the sound of the guitars too (especially SFM) but that's for another thread...

Quotevudicus Check out Charlie during the Piano solo on Honky Tonk Woman. Instead of playing the snare drum on the 2 and the 4 as per always, he plays the 2 and then does a double on the tom tom for the 4. This is something he has never done previously (as far as I am aware) and it is a really cool variation. Bless ya Charlie! One of the first things I noticed when I first listened to

Have just listened through it once now. It`s really good!! I do especially like ER, great bass!! And over all a good mix with nice sounding guitars and good sound... I am glad this came out, but beeing old fashioned I hope for a cd so I can read the cover while listening to it and then put it back to my Stonescollection...

Not because of the setlist or because of flawless playing, but the first show at O2 last year was the best. I mean the uncertainty of how good they where and how the show would be as it had been five years since the last show. How old would they be? From the moment they went on stage they proved that they still are the greatest rocknroll band in the world. And hats of to Jagger as the best fr

Quotedrbryant How was the unwind bar on the 6th? Was it easy to get food? I am going with two casual fans and am wondering whether to eat before entering the park. If you mean the backstagebar it was pretty easy to get both food and drinks. I had quite a few beers and two meals before the show. No queu at all, neither to get in to the backstage area or to get food or anything to drink.
