Just got back from seeing the film too. Got to agree the sound, footage and performance of the band were phenomenal. A fantastic back to basics show with the Stones clearly out to prove to the punks who were the true guvnors of rock n'roll. Great to see the interplay between the band members both musically and just simply fooling around on stage. Can't wait to get the DVD now.

A terrible day. I was in Milton Keynes on a works training course and just been told I had passed the course. Came out of the room feeling pretty pleased with myself and saw a group of colleagues gathered around a TV in the lobby. Curious I wandered over and saw the whole thing unfold it was truly horrific. The drive back to Kent that evening was surreal listening to the news on the car radio won

A mate of mine told me a story in the pub the other night. He was on the train from London to Dartford and there was a group of youngsters travelling down to go to a nightclub. One of the youngsters asked his mate if there was anything else of interest about Dartford. His mate googled Dartford on his iphone and said "yeah some bloke called Mick Jagger he's a singer or something"

Quoteuhbuhgullayew QuoteDartfordRenegade I was in Ballyshannon, Ireland some years back (birthplace of Rory Gallagher), In a small museum there dedicated to Rory it was claimed that he turned the Stones down after he was offered the position left vacant by Mick Taylor. Really? Whose claim was this? It was an old article in a music paper that was on display in the museum. It was several years

This is great news. I've got many of the boots on vinyl from that tour but a DVD / Film of one of the shows is something else. Really looking forward to this release. Christmas has come early!

I remember Mick, Keith and Dick Taylor rehearsing in Mick's aunts garage in Denver Road, Dartford at the back of my parents house. One of the neighbours used to shout over the fence at them to turn the noise down, get their hair cut and go and get proper jobs. Good job they never listened to him eh!

Quotevarilla Anybody met Chris? How about him? Yeah I've met Chris last time his band played Dartford. He's a nice guy, very charming, he has a got a good band and puts on a very entertaining show. He signed my CD and posed for a few photos after the show. I must admit I went along sort of hoping Mick may show up and join in on a few numbers like he did at Barnes. Although Mick did

I've met Bill Wyman a couple of times. Once at a book signing in London the other time after a Rhythm Kings show in Dartford. I can't remember if I shook his hand but had a chat with him and he was friendly and down to earth and asked what I thought of certain numbers he played at the show. Also met Chris Jagger again after a show in Dartford and he was friendly, signed autographs an

QuoteEdith Grove Quotestones78One question, which song is that "Dixie" that is mentioned, is it a country tune? Here's a 1916 recording. I wouldn't expect many people from outside the U.S. to know this tune. Dixie is well known here in the UK. Certainly by my generation who grew up watching American Westerns. May not be so well known by today's younger generation

I was there and thought it was a great night. Had some great seats near the stage and remember really enjoying the show. I did think it might be the last ever Stones show so had a feeling of happiness mixed with a little sadness but I hope I'm wrong and they do another tour.

Just got back from first show. What a fantastic night and a great show. Four Rolling Stones on stage with Jools Holland and Mick Hucknall and even Shaking Stevens. Have to say Ben Waters, Dave Green and Axel were great musicians too. Got to meet Bjornulf and Man of Wealth and Taste too. Hope these shows were recorded for CD / DVD release.

What a great version of Fool to Cry. Think

QuoteCome On ..yeah, and in Germany Dartford should be the place for such museum... I seem to recall something like this being suggested for the Mick Jagger Centre in Dartford. Mick was not too happy about it he was quoted in the local papers as saying something like "I ain't no museum piece" or something along those lines so the MJC shelved it. They do have a few old schoo

Hi stupidguy, I guess we were lucky to have seen them in the 70's, although I wish I had seen them with Mick Taylor like Keefyboy. Not long after I saw them at Knebworth I was talking to a customer in the Hardware Store where I was working at the time and he had seen them at Croydon Fairfield Halls in the mid 60's. I also once knew a lady from Brixton in London who saw them at

Hi Nicos and thanks for the welcome. My first and so far only overseas gig with the Stones was in Rotterdam on the 1982 European tour. It was a package trip including a coach from London, Ferry for the Sea Crossing and Hotel and ticket. The gig was at the Feyenoord football stadium and it was a great weekend. The J Geils band was supporting and it was great to see the Stones again after
