QuoteStoneage Progressive rock was very big in Sweden in the late 60s and throughout the 70s. In Sweden it was a political movement also. It coincided with the so called 68-left movement. Some of them are still touring. Like Mikael Wiehe for example. Prog is still very big among 60+ leftist academics (the 68-left had nothing to do with the working classes. They were university students, all of th

It was a wonderful evening indeed, although I didn't think the concert got about until the second half of the show. Jungleland blew me away totally!

QuoteHappy JackMick and Keith make Solo albums-unless your a diehard, these aren't great. The fued echoes John and Paul as each takes shots at each others. Even though I consider myself "diehard", I think Talk is cheap is indeed a very good album in its own. Much better than Undercover, Dirty Work and Steel Wheels. Even my dad likes that one, who just listens to Toto and Steely Dan

Excellent song, like all songs from Tattoo You. And a great Keith-number. Little T&A, Theodora & Alexandra. Coincidence?

The Midnight Ramblers That's what we decided to name our blues-band, just to find out that there are at least 20 other bands with that name.

Mick have done a lot of bad style choices before. At Hyde Park in '69 he wore a ballerina dress, the pink suit was used already in 1981 and on that same tour he used a Peter Pan suit >.<

swiss, thanks a lot! Great post, very informative. We're from Sweden and used to cold summers so I don't think the weather will be a problem. We don't just need Stones-related sights but anything that's worth checking out if you're into classic rock music and fancy the 60's and 70's culture. We love the Grateful Dead, The Byrds and a lot of californian music

I'm gonna spend two weeks in San Francisco for the Outside Lands festival and then drive the pacific coast highway down through Monterey and Big Sur to Los Angeles and Hollywood. Anyone got some tips to do or see, Stones-related or not? How is Haight Ashbury nowadays? The Fillmore East? I guess the Altamont Speedway is a little too off and not very interesting.

Such a great album and cover. It's a shame they didn't get to use it, the one they got to use is very lame however. That subtle inventation doesn't match up to all those great tracks. And it resembles The Beatles self-titled album too much, which was released the same year. Beggars Banquet is one of the Stones greatest albums and the cover should be as iconic as the covers for Stic

There's somethin' about singing, that is the business! You sing, women go crazy! 'Cause Mick Jagger is an ugly @#$%&...with big-ass lips! Mick Jagger's lips so big, black people be goin', 'He got some big-ass lips! These are big motherfuckin' lips!' Classic comedy. Hilarious!

I love this album, it's one of my favorite Stones albums and I believe it's very underrated. Winter and 100 Years Ago are among their very best songs. I just love the hazy druggy sound and feel they had on this one, and never really got back to, it's lot of funk and soul in it. Wah-wah's snd great keyboards from Billy Preston. I think it catches the time great.

Wow, the Stones are really going all out celebrating this historic point in the their timeline and career. And the party is already half-way through. They even updated their logo showing that this is a very special year. 50 years as a band and all we got was a book? What's happening, and what do you think will happen this year?

This is what happens when you don't have a permanent engineer and get to play around for yourself in the studio. A very very bad album. Sing This All Together (See What Happens) and Gomper are among the low-water marks in the Stones career. She's A Rainbow and 2000 Light Years From Home are on the other hand great songs, but that's it. And man, they were doing a lot of Acid at t

The Wall is a pompous highly overrated album. I saw Roger Waters at Roskilde 2006 performing Dark Side of the Moon, and that's one of the best concerts I've ever seen.
