Sorry to slightly hijack the thread, but I had a somewhat fascinating thought: Would you prefer Charlie retire from The Stones (presumably bring an end to the touring juggernaut) and a DVD/Blu-ray and CD of the 1972 and 1975 tours be released, or see another tour in 2010 and beyond and no opening of the vaults?

QuoteYazid Manou Here the following communiqué (only the first sentence) regarding the "new" releases for the fall : Universal Music Group are pleased to announce the reissue of five Rolling Stones live albums on 2rd November 2009. Recorded between 1975 and 2002, Love You Live, Still Life, Flashpoint, the much-loved Stripped and Live Licks, showcase the world’s greatest rock’n’roll

Quotedrbryant January 1973. HIC Arena, Honolulu, Hawaii. Unbelievable. You're kidding, the Stones played the Honolulu Internation Centre in January '73? What was the date? Elvis beamed Aloha From Hawaii Live Via Satellite on January 14. I'm guessing they were on their way to Japan and then onto Australia.

Quoteboston2006 1972 ~ The Boston Garden Jealous. Elvis rocked that joint in November '71. Due to the tyranny of time, I first saw the Stones on on 25 February, 2003 at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne. $150 for an ok seat, but a priceless memory.

Mrs Walsh needs to remove the pole from her arse, she was never a Stones fan.

Are they a genuine mono mix done at the studio desk, or are they just a fold down of stereo tracks ripped from a CD?

Quotebassplayer617 I may have to re-evaluate my impressions of the early-80s output, then. So, "Undercover" sounds good now? I didn't buy the earler CD version, just the LP. How about "Emotional Rescue"? I also only have that on LP. After switching back and forth between the Virgin and UMG editions of Emotional Rescue, it's my opinion that there's not a dramat

QuoteThe Stones Jump Back was the first Stones album I bought and being a casual fan back then I remember being disappointed that Satisfaction wasn't included...... Haha that's funny, I had the exact same experience. Back in '94 or '95 when I was first becoming a Stones fan off the back of Gunners cover of Sympathy, there were three Stones songs I really wanted on a CD - Sa

I love the 1981 Tour as I've experienced it via Still Life on CD and Let's Spend The Night Together on DVD. I would love for UMG to expand Still Life to better reflect an '81 show. Seeing a live album isn't quite intended to be an artistic statement like a studio piece, I don't see why this can't be done.

Hi everyone, Can someone give me some information on the Japanese cardboard sleeve SHM CD's of the ABKCO era albums please? I'm wondering to what extend the text on the album packaging is in English and/or Japanese? I understand the 'obi' is in Japanese, but am unsure of the actual CD sleeve itself. Thanks

The Universal remaster of Undercover sounds great. The clarity between all players, and the kick of Charlie's drums has me hooked. I've been listening to Too Tough on repeat for a fortnight since I picked the CD up. The censorship of @#$%& aside, these remasters are great. They are clearly louder and brighter, which can be fatiguing, but the clarity and punch is very welcome.
