Here's some stuff I found online: Nico Zentgraf's exhaustive Complete Works books on the Rolling Stones reflect the Metamorphosis version as recorded 11/17/68 with Al Kooper on keyboards and no mention of other players. Steve Winwood has personally communicated that he did not perform on this song (many thanks to Steve Winwood, 10/2002). Can't find much on the Performance

Peter Frampton also plays guitar on that track, and Nicky Hopkins is on the piano.

Infidels is definitely under rated, I remember the Jokerman video. I am a huge fan and also think Empire Burlesque is under rated (Ron Wood on at least one track). Planet Waves, as mentioned earlier, is definitely the most under rated Dylan album. Before the Flood, from the tour that either followed or was just before Planet Waves is another great album.

This has probably been done many times, but I thought it might be cool to see what everyone has in the "roots of the Stones" realm. If you want, add your old stuff that either the Stones covered, or that may have influenced the Stones either lyrically or musically. Here is an interesting version I found of something from the Stones' first album. Louisiana Red, King Bee (Live

No hits for Moby Grape. Probably because they were song oriented, not jam oriented. Also, their record label released SIX singles at the same time when the first record came out. STUPID, radio didn't know what to sell. Moby Grape's best known song is Omaha, but I don't believe it was a hit of any sort. Anyway, the first record is fantastic, just like the Dead's first recor

Yeah, I've got it. Just in case I was not clear, I was looking for a message board like this one, only for Dolls/Heartbreakers. The Johnny Cyber Lounge is not kept up very much and the forum appears not to exist anymore. That "My Father's Place" disc is great, with the FM station giving out on one of the first tracks too, very authentic. Nice to know there's other Thu

I would rather the early Dead, Airplane, and Moby Grape be the bands that we think of when referring to the San Fran sound. I don't really like anything I have heard by It's a Beautiful Day. I guess I get why some people do, just not me.

As I was reading this thread, I kept thinking Jack White. The sound, the reverb, everything is perfect on Van Lear Rose. Can you imagine good Stones tunes drenched in that raw sound? It would indeed be sensational! Right on Chas and Rev.Robert W.

Leonard Keringer, I would love to hear that band, I would opt for the subtle swing of Jerry Nolan on drums, but you are right on with the rest. Vocals: Greg Prevost (Chesterfield Kings) Rhythm Guitar: Who Else, Keef Lead Guitar: Ronson Bass: Glen Matlock (Pistols) Drums: Jerry Nolan (Dolls) This would be cool, I think...In fact, I'm sure it would be. It would definitely be tra

Someone emailed Keith the same question on his site. He answered it. He suggested that it may have been influenced by Johnny Cash, who played in the same way, but he didn't know for sure. It is actually far more comfortable then playing by the bridge like some twangers do, depending on what guitar you have and how it fits you. I play Gibsons and find my hand is almost always playing over

Telepathic Butterflies, great group, don't like the name. Garaj Mahal, never heard them, but like the name for some reason. Foghat, like listening to them, but a name from a made up word with Scrabble letters? C'mon. Big Star, great band, great name, as well as their album #1 Record. Free Beer and Chicken, probably taken from the John Lee Hooker album title, but a great w

In reply to Stonefan, I have a disc from 6/14/82 at the Hippodrome in Paris, it's titled Demain le Soleil and is on RO tracker right now. I miss typed, however, it is not a board. The Naples is, France not. Sorry for the confusion (almost as detail oriented as a Zappa fan . I appreciate all the feedback to my question. I guess maybe I prefer a tighter, smoother Stones. gcassan, I got this from the RO torrent, the artwork has the Hot Rocks stuff listed, but instead I got what appear to be some fair quality live 73 tracks, 4 of them to be exact. So I do not have the Hot Rocks tracks you are looking for, sorry, maybe someone else does.
