What I would like to hear is some "live" studio recordings from the past. I am sure there are some great jams w/ some very special guests that dropped in for a few hours and a few drinks lying around somewhere. One of my favorite video moments in the last few years was the the 5 minute jam off of the R.S.Fanclub video 2 years ago featuring keith and Ronnie just sitting on a sofa tradi

A lot of guys can really make it work in the studio ( keith, ronnie), but what impresses me is when someone can really make it work live..... Carlos Santana Stevie Ray Eric Clapton

I complained to RS.COM 2 months ago about how could they expect me to sign up for another year when they had not fulfilled their promises (the hat, card,cd) from the previous year. I cancelled my membership and last week finally received my ugly hat and id card. Two months after my membership ran out I can still acess the site. I guess their incompetency works both ways.

My renewal came up in July. I wrote them a letter stating I did not want to renew my membership and that I was STILL WAITING for my "gifts" promised me when I renewed in July 06. They replied that the "gifts" would ship any day....that was 8 weeks ago. Now the Stones come along hinting at new shows in the states this spring and I'm wondering if I did the right thing by

In 1968 I was a Boy Scout in the midwest of the USA. We would get asked to usher the shows at the annual State Fair. We really didn't do much but we worked cheap!! I was positioned in front of the stage for the Herman's Hermits show. The opening act was some band called THE WHO...The rest is history!!! My decline into the dregs of drugs, sex and R&R started that afternoon. I w

So you are angry that you paid big bucks to sit up front with all the doctors and lawyers. You would be equally upset if you had bought nose-bleed tix and was sitting up in the top with low-lifes like me.

Ok, here's my 2 cents. I enjoy getting to the venue early. I don't, however, go into the stadium 5 hours early. I hang out in the parking lot drinking adult beverages at 1/4 the price they are charging inside. We hang out with other fans, play Stones music and generally have a great time...knowing all the while there is a 30in by 30 in space inside the stadium with my name on it! I

I know it's all about musical tastes...BUT to say Boston was a terrible band is to say that millions of people who bought their music have no taste. No, they weren't the Stones, but that applies to everyother band but one. My God, how can anyone who claimes to love soaring quitar work not enjoy the music of Boston. Most band's first recording efforts are rough and hit and miss.

CSN&Y--" Four-Way Street" is IMHO one of the greatest live recordings in history and a must own. The jam on "Carry On" is worth the $ of the lp.

I saw The Who in Indy last night and was blown away! I know there are several factors or excuses in play here...but while watching Pete last night I thought "Hey Keith and Ronnie, check Mr. Townsend out. He's had his share of demons to deal with in his life too but he still has his chops! Seriously, just to get to watch Pete play as only he can to 2+ hours is worth the price of admis

I was dumb enough as a high school senior to drive 400 miles out of my way on the way to Florida for spring break to go to Black Oak Arkansas...YES!! THERE IS SUCH A PLACE!! Nothing to see there but I still have a picture of the water tower with big "BLACK OAK" letters on the side. Nobody played lead washboard like Jim Dandy!

I remember hearing Quad for the first time as a teenager in 73' lying in bed with headphones on. I listened to the first side, got out of bed and called my best friend and told him I had just heard the greatest 18 minutes of studio rock in my still young life! I believe Pete hit his creative zenith with Quad and I still would have to say it is one of 3 lps I could not live without.

I especially am tired of it live, although I would have to admit of all the times I have heard it live they did it best IMO in Chicago last fall. Maybe it was the cold numbing my brain (among other things).

Opinions are like perspectives, everyone has one. I cannot relate to the European perspective of the Beatles and their revelance and influence. All I have is the perspective of a ten year-old kid from the midwest of the USA who's life (and I assume I have a few million for company) was radically changed in February of 1964 when the FAB FOUR appeared on Ed Sullivan. The Beatles Kicked down

There is a relatively obscure lp from the early 70s called "Carlos Santana and Buddy Miles live." It was recorded from a concert at the Diamond Head Volcano park in Hawaii. The second side of the lp contained a really great jam called Free Form Funkified Filth. Still one of my fav raves.

Saw Hermins Hermits in 1967. They were the headliner...the opening act was another interesting band from England...The Who! What a contrast in music styles! I don't remember much about the Hermits' performance but I still remember watching Pete ram his quitar into his amp! I was 11 years old at the time. My parents bought me the ticket because they thought the Hermits were pretty h
