"The Grand Slam." According to the Urban Dictionary, Slam can also mean "to inject drugs" or to "f*** hard" Lots of both going on during that period.

QuoteBluzDude I remember back in 1981 seing the Stones with J Geils, George Thourogood & Prince. Freeze Frame had just come out a few weeks before the show and J. Geils did not play one song from the record. The album was just a couple weeks old already getting strong radio play and great reviews. I wonder if they were told by the powers that be not to play anything from it. They must not h

A great tour (and my first one) yet somehow it - outside of boards like this - kind of gets forgotten.

QuoteDeltics Can't find anything up to date, but this might be of interest: This unusual and interesting name is of early medieval origin, and is peculiarly a Yorkshire creation. The name is occupational and means a pedlar, hawker, carrier or carter, derived from "jagger" the Yorkshire dialect formation from the Middle English word "Jag" meaning "pack"

Quoteflilflam It is pretty obvious to me that, whatever the Stones do, not everyone will be happy. This is what I mean: When the Stones release the newer version of EOMS, some will say that it is just repackaged nostalgia, and that the songs are rejects from the classic EOMS. Others will complain that it was not released ten years earlier. When the Stones tour again in 2011, some will jump

I was thinking along the lines of how it (and the others) is underappreciated outside of here. Frankly, in that context, at least two dozen others could be

Great song but Carly Simon sure has milked this silly game of "I've got a secret and I ain't telling...Oh, but I'll give you a little hint...but then again, I may be just kidding...giggle giggle" for a long time.

"I've never been a big Beatles fan. Of RINGO, yes, but not of the music." Typical attention grabbing headline "Hated the Beatles" when he simply says he isn't a big fan. As for the 'Honestly, I couldn't care less if it were over and done with the Stones tomorrow.' Charlie quits the band after every tour.

Any pre-1989 version rocks the best; the back-up singers since then bring it a notch down - sometimes several - for me. I was at the early show of the CNIB benefit show in 1979 in Oshawa. JJF nearly tore the place apart.

I can remember my sister bring home 'Flowers' from the record store and I fell in love with "Ruby Tuesday" "Have You Seen Your Mother..." and "Lady Jane" I was three and so began my Stones journey. My brother and I ended up wearing the thing out.

My dearly departed mom was also a big Stones fan and she thought the opening lines of 'Hot Stuff' were "Pasta...can't get enough."

My first Stones show also. Went with my older brother. Great memories: Jagger and Wood all in red, frisbees everywhere, 80,000 packed into Rich Stadium on a hot and sunny day, etc.

Although the The Stones take the cake I'm not surprised Edith Grove chose Stone Temple Pilots. Saw them open up for the Stones in 1994 and they did indeed rock although the Stones blew them away. That was more a testament to the Stones putting on a fanstastic show than anything lacking in the STP show. George Thoroughgood and J. Geils opened when I saw the Stones in San Francisco in 1981

Daily exercise - but not too close to bedtime - helps a lot. Spending too much evening time in front of the computer tends to stimulate our brain and keep us awake longer. We live in a 24-hour world and are working longer hours which doesn't help either.

The average age of the three original Zep members is only three years less than the three original Stones (63-60) but it's interesting that we hear no mention of the their ages like we do when the Stones tour. No jokes about "Bring it on (to the retirement) home", "Four Canes" (instead of Sticks), "Hearing Breakdown", "When the Wheelchair Breaks", &quo

You mean members of the Rolling Stones have actually been less than sober onstage at one time or another during their career? No way.
