Just this time last week I was sitting next to Pinetop Perkins in Austin. He was digging Bobby Rush and asking for a cigarette and wishing for a piano. All he got were hugs.

Democracy in a band you get Mardi Gras by CCR. YUCK. A band has to have a chief or two chief and some Indians. It all comes about pretty naturally.

December 5th 1965. L.A. Sports Arena. They were introduced by some of the Boss Jocks and they (The Stones) tore it down. Great show, the stage was littered with bras and panties afterwards. They lived up to my expectations and then some.

The show I saw at the Kodak theater in 2002 with PRINCE. No one could have followed it. That includes the Stones. He rules even with a borrowed band. He is that good. I have been seeing the Stones since '65 and as close as they come to Prince was the Forum Show in 2006. Catch him on a good day with an open mind and you will see.

Of course my first memory is Tumbling Dice because it was the first single. I remembered how dirty it sounded. It made me realize that the Stones were still rocking in Summer of the singer-songwriters. When the LP came out, we went to Poobah's in Pasadena and bought it, brought it back to the crib and wore it out. it was like nothing that we had ever heard before, especially the middle part

Somebody netter go back and listen to those early Stones albums. Ringo's great but Charlie swung. Ringo couldn't swing if he had a ripe, Charlie is the reason why I dig the Stones. Period. Examples, 'Down The Road Apiece, You Can't catch me, Around and Around, Gimme Shelter, parachute Woman, oh come on the list is endless.
