Reading this thread makes me feel very old! First show was NYC Oct.24, 1964, second show May 29, 1965. Havent been the same since, haven't missed a tour since 1964. Usualy only see one or two shows per tour due to money and location. Those early 60's show were a totaluy different animal then anything post 1969. Early Stones concerts wre like everybody elses- obnoxous local DJ's asa

I saw them for the first time in Oct. 1964 in New York, but I have a neighbor/friend who grew up in Newcastle who remembers seeing them at the Club A-Go-Go when the Animals were the house band. He has great stories of seeing and talking to The Animals, Stones and just about every early 60's British band. I always bug him for a little more! Only person I've ever met who saw them arlier t

I can't be sure it's my first Stones memory, but I have a really clear picture in my head of lying on my bed, in our NYC apartment, watching The Stones do "Time Is On My Side" on Shindig, Hullabloo or maybe Ed Sullivan, while my mother was doing the ironing. My memory is of my mother saying " my he's sexy", maybe the coolest thing my mother ever said!!

I do a weekly community radio show on which I keep coming back to " England's Newest Hitmakers", still one of my top Stones albums. I seem to play Homest I do, both by the Stones and Jimmy Reed. Don't know the Johnny Winter version, I'll have to find a copy. I've always loved Honest I do, right up there with King Bee ( probably the first really out there sexual song,

In Reply to Scaffer: My first Stones show and the next five or so hold very vivid memories. I was a 14 yr. old boy from Queens, from a very liberal old left background. My friends and I were allowed to wander all over the city, though up til 1964 we mostly went to baseball games, the World's Fair, civil rights marches and folk concerts. Saw Dylan and Baez, Phil Ochs, Judy Collins, Clanc
