They have some decent pop ditties if youre not tired from hearing them the 1000th time on the radio, but other than that...impossible to like IMO

hey Open G can you suggest any boots/discs from Taylor's touring with Alvin Lee? I love Ten Years After/AlvinLee Band and adding Taylor to the mix would be icing. I've heard "Slow Down" which sounds like mostly Alvin, but i was wondering how MT's input was on that tour in 1981(?).

the version i posted is from the 12/9/81 show in Largo, MD. if the Rio show was any sign, i would be interested in hearing the Argentina version of YCAGWYW. It seems RW has given the song new life as of late.

Physical Graffitti...a lot of that double album is from the '71 sessions w/ Ian Stewart, the ones that produced "Rock and Roll"

Its the Super Bowl, with a humungous audience, and the majority of them dont know the Stones well. Do you want them to bust out Dancing with Mr D? The setlist was near perfect for the event, without RJ everyone would be saying "oldies act," and if they play more than 1 from ABB no one would be interested. Maybe instead of Satisfaction they could have played JMI because most people kn

interesting about Covay, i've never heard that track. As for influences who each player sounds most like, its hard to say. Keith is easy when they play Berry(ish) tunes, but at times, for instance SFTD solo its kind of Buddy Guy bluesy. Bill has that swinging bass, but really, there arent many guitarists who sound like Woody or have MT's fluidity. Since Brian taught Mick to play har

IMO their main influences (as individuals) have been Mick J= James Brown Keith=Chuckster, Muddy, Jimmy Reed, Robert Johnson, Hank Williams Brian=Howlin Wolf, Elmore James Bill=Willie Dixon? Charlie=Charlie Parker MT=Albert King, Freddie King Ronnie=(slide)Duane Allman, a little Chuck B, Hop Wilson Stu=Johnnie Johnson any other ideas? this is of course just a start

Actually thanks for pointing that out, I believe the riff is played by both KR and MT...KR plays around the 9th fret in open G, while MT plays the E (0 0 1 2 2 0), then E/A change, then the F# barre @ the 2nd fret to the B.

Rocks off: 1 guitar standard, one OpenG. The intro riff is distinctly open G, but with the low string ON, which Keith usually removes. You can hear it being used in the opening riff, on the 5th thru 8th notes.

I have two versions of Sway with Carla Olson, one about 7 minutes and the other just under 6, the 7 minute one is much better quality, but both versions have very flashy solos. As for Winter, the 12 something minute version isnt that special...its ok as a jam but is mostly noodling and not nearly as exciting as Sway.

Bitch in studio=all Keith. 1972/some73 shows=MT playing main riff, Keith playing CB/Albert King type fills, as well as solo.

On that tribute album he plays Sway and Moonlight Mile, both are very good. -He puts on a good show, and he's touring the states till May. If i can figure out how to put up mp3's ill try to let you guys listen to sway...he also played a Berry tune which i actually never heard before, if anyones seen Hart play and knows the Chuck Berry song(s) he plays, let me know.

So last night i saw Alvin in Bradensburg, MD, and it was great. You might not be familiar with his stuff but if you're looking for a mix of blues, rock, and a lil country he's an excellent act. Anyway the highlight of the show was when....after a song, he goes "This next one is by request...I hear the Stones are touring again, but theyre not coming here! If you wanna dance to th

If anything, I'm Free rips off The BEatle's "8 Days a Week." The Soup Dragons covered "I'm Free"; its the Stones' original.

hey Rev., did you know the boys' Black Limo was based on Jimmy Reed's "You Don't Have To Go"?? Both nice bluesy tunes, similar structures. And thanks for all your songs, its nice to find a new song or artist to open doors.

gotta love the kinks and ccr, even the solo careers of davies and fogerty are solid. Kinks are such a great Brit band i can forgive them for the blatant rip-off of JJF's riff in "Catch Me Now I'm Falling" (good song!) haha.

Just wondering what everyone thinks is the best lick ever...not really a main riff or solo, just something like a short slide fill or something. For example, I think MT's lick in All Down the Line from Brussels, around 2:10, is awesome...it just makes me happy somehow. Also, Ronnie's (i think) lick in Crazy Mama (he does it a few times in the song) is great.
