Give Another Go - Youtube This is a single my band released earlier this year - my bandmate is a hell of a player and his biggest influence is Mark Knopfler, whereas mine is Keith and I think it makes a pretty cool blend put together.

I don't know about his standard tuning guitars specifically, but I saw an interview a while back with Pierre de Beauport saying that on the Open-G guitars, he used what would be a set of 11s (minus the low E) as Keith is apparently heavy handed and breaks 10s. He bends more in standard tuning, which his LP Jrs are kept in, so I'd hazard a guess he may use 10s to make it easier on his ha

QuoteBig Al They’re both playing well for their respective ages. I mean, who are we to compare them against? There aren’t many, are there? Eric Clapton is -in my opinion - a better guitarist, technically, but going by recent videos, is playing in his sleep. It’s ever-so boring. I agree 100%! A jagged chord from Keith, seemingly out of nowhere, will inspire me far more than watching Clapton (who

I'm really enjoying it so far, really fresh sounding album with lots of gems in the mix - little licks and flourishes from Keith and Ronnie. It's not Exile or Sticky Fingers, but it was never going to be nor was it intended to be. In context, it's a great album and I already know it's one I'll go back to in future. Dreamy Skies is the highlight for me so far, with a speci

Quotekeefriffhards QuoteGasLightStreet Quotekeefriffhards I'd say the biggest hits were in the 60s Keith was the major contributer in those days, then arguably their best album Exile On Main Street is mostly Keith. So I'd say Keith was king when it was a phenomenon. I don't think Mick could barely play guitar in the 60s. Fortunately what you think is wrong. Especially since

I see it has already arrived, but I have the Hummingbird myself (I needed a new acoustic and I chose the natural finish with pictures of Keith at Nellcote stuck in my mind) - it's a great guitar. Has quite a deep and woody tone that I love, and projects very well. I played a festival back in July and our band has an acoustic number in the set - I used it for that and it sounded great through
