QuoteDGA35 QuoteMisterDDDD QuoteElmo Lewis I always thought "Jayne Mansfield" in the 2nd row was Raquel Welch. Jayne and Raquel definitely looked similarly gorgeous, but definitely Jayne. She had a certain look about her.. I'm sure many on this board know that Jayne's daughter is Mariska Hartigay, actress on Law and Order SVU. Her dad is the late Mickey Hartigay,

Quoterollmops It seems to be available on Amazon prime; usually one has to pay an extra rental fee($4). I will check it out as I am interested in watching it. I always listen to Grams' records via streaming. My favorite is GP. I think that maybe around the time the docu was made, 2004, there was a CD of covers of Grams' songs done by famous musicians like Emmylou Harris, E. Costello e

Quoteloog droog My suggestion would be from Bob Dylan's "Another Self-Portrait" (Bootleg Series Vol. 10) The alternate version of "If Not For You" found on disc 2 is simply remarkable. Slightly slowed, with piano and violin backing, it is a different spin on a familiar song. The music would not be out of place being heard in a church or chapel. The words are strai

QuoteStonedAsiaExile I've had a recurring dream over the years in which: 1. The Stones are playing at a theater in Raleigh, NC 2. I am invited for soundcheck. 3. Watch the concert from first row. 4. Get invited to have a drink and ciggie (I don't smoke) with Keith and Patti at their hotel, which happens to adjoin the theater. 5. Their room number, each and every time, is 305.

QuoteRokyfan Quotepeoplewitheyes I saw a documentary on DeeDee Schnyder and that "disco sucks" moment, and the whole movement seemed utterly pathetic - insecure and rather racist/homophobic. It was. But it's Dee Snider from twisted sister. Dee Dee Ramone Rob Schneider It was pathetic racist and homophobic I am (hopefully) none of those things, however, a lot of

Quoteliddas Quotetomcasagranda Not half as much as Rod Stewart for Do Ya Think I'm Sexy: an awful aberration. One of my favorites from Rod! And openly inspired by Miss You Phil Chen's bass line is a killer! C I concur. "Jealous" from Tonight I'm Yours is even more like "Miss You". Even has a harmonica! Just our supposedly "old" (in 197

Yes, in the 70's The Stones perfected the slow building ballad. Many great examples - "Memory Motel" is one, along with several others that have been mentioned (and some that have not). I would love to see them do more of these type of songs.

Quotefloodonthepage No. But my first records (cassettes) were 'Steel Wheels' and 'Still Life' and I went into 1989 with a vague/general knowledge of them (specifically 'Start Me Up') and Mick in his knee pads, tights, and Joe Namath jersey. Actually, a Philadelphia Eagles jersey, but we all love Broadway Joe.
