Adults not acting like adults. Sad. The lack of commenting by Wood and others is strange. It can't be about insurance as many stars tour despite drug and constant health problems. See Jerry Garcia.

Some idiot write waxing lyrical about Clapton possibly joining Stones with old recording of Clapton playing Brown Sugar: Frankly Eric plays it quite a bit like how Mick Taylor played Brown Sugar. So the Stones got as good of a guitarist as Clapton without the ego. IMHO.

I think every has to keep in mind that every participant close to the Stones likely signs contracts that include certain non-disclosures and non-disparagement and also probably limits their ability to even discuss the tour - except for the 4 members of the Stones. If we want brutal honesty of MT here is his best quote: "The better question is why did I live the Stones but should I have

How the mighty fall. I think it's a shame that Rolling Stone's writers appear not to read their own magazine's output, since a follow up question on what Keith actually knew at the tim

The trade-off solo in SFD on Get Ya-Yas out is one of the best guitarist solo trades of all time. I think MT's solo at the end is amazing. However, in talking to friends of mine who are professional guitarists they have said that the limited amount of notes Keef hit in his solo and the fluidity was actually technically more adept than MT's later solo. But for sure Ronnie and Keef n

Is there any doubt that Ronnie gives Keef comfort even though Keef can't really control Brenda? I mean no way is MT the type of guy to console, coddle or lionize Keef.... But Ronnie will.

Again, because of MT's meekness the remaining Stones have no problem giving gratuitous, backhanded insults. Imagine if Hendrix, Clapton or Beck were treated this way. MT is not a showman like Hendrix (i.e. the fedora and burning guitars) but he delivered it just as much in his own way. For the Stones he is a perfect fit. Keith is jealous - hence the reason he hired an inferior guitaris

I have 12 friends....we were all willingly fleeced of $600 per ticket to see MT as part of the Stones. We saw only a few songs. We will not be going to any shows on this tour. We have been to hundreds of shows over the last 40 years. Seeing MT come back was worth it. Without MT they are kind of a Vegas act - all choreographed. When Taylor left the Stones it was a tragedy and by the 1973

I bet Brenda scolded MT for going "Hendrix" on him. MT has the ability to play like a cutting edge jam band guitarist. I bet a Trey Anastasio would give MT kudos for doing that. I could totally see MT realizing his time is limited and compartmentalized saying to himself "Screw it" - I am going to really break out the AXE and I don't care what Brenda thinks....

Would people get rid of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton (over rated), Jimmy Page? But its okay to dump MT off a Sticky Fingers Tour. MT is the most underrated, under appreciated guitarist of all time. A Top 5 guitarist without question.

QuoteTurner68 Quotestrat72 QuoteTurner68 Mick Taylor was great with them on the 69/70 tours. Then he developed a bit too much of an ego IMO, became a little self-indulgent and started soloing and playing riffs all over the songs, trying to turn them into just another early 70s guitar band. Songs like Gimme Shelter and Brown sugar, to my ears, just aren't as good in 72/73 because Taylor just

Hey Dandy...take a Midol! I know about a dozen fans who stopped going to shows because the RS are too predictable and over charge. We all fell for the Mick Taylor cameo bit....got to give it to Jagger - he duped us. But not again. They need to have MT playing full sets for me to go and see another one of their predictable sets.

My opinion of Mick Taylor is this: He is the greatest rock guitarist of all time. Deep down the stones know this and for monetary reasons and ego reasons they left him out. Every knows this is the truth.

I wonder if MJ will call MT if something happens to Ronnie or Keef? Other than that I think only Ticket Sales will get their attention. I got played by MJ with the MT rollout. I won't go to another show with these crazy prices unless MT is given a lot more songs! I won't be holding my breath....ugh.

Why on earth do you care? This is just one thread within a RS website. Taylor was a Rolling Stone. What is so hard for you to deal with or is this really Mick Jagger on your account? What people can't recognize is that he is one of the greatest guitarists of all time and MJ and KR closed ranks on him for contributing. Now they don't want him back on a follow-up tour focusing of a

Good lord...people still debating MT vs Woody or Keef? Please stop the nonsense. The question is what lead guitarist is better than Taylor? Clapton - No. Page - ? Hendrix - ? MT on CYHMK and Shanghai MR tells you all you need to know. Neither Woody or Richards could hold his guitar strap. Mick Taylor is the best musician the Stones ever had. How can you judge MT's playing on basically 2 songs? How many DIFFERENT SONGS DID HE PLAY ON THIS TOUR? Like 5 songs??? Most in the background. You are both insane. FWIW that Shanghai Midnight Rambler is unbelievable. Basically half way through 4:40 or so Jagger and Taylor are jamming then Jagger goes on the catwalk and Taylor goes totally distortion....it is so crazy.... in the end Ronnie Jumps in and they are both jamming. Taylor brings so many nuances and flashes of brilliance - again and again. That Shanghai Might Rambler is exceptional. He is a cr
