I absolutely love this version. I was always amazed by the fact that—despite being a single with a video and all at the time—it was never released on CD and still as of today isn’t even on digital platforms. Maybe the master tapes got damaged or something.

QuoteMAF You can hear her "PAINT IT, BLACK, you devil!" on "FLashpoint", too. So the "Flashpoint"-sound of the audience is a big mix of whatever... Never noticed! I can't find it either. What song on Flashpoint?

Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't make him or her a troll. They same way nobody told you that you'll swallow whatever they feed you.

QuoteDorn don´t get me wrong, i am not moaning THAT they are opening the archives but if they do - and making the boots we have been collecting for the past decades with lots of passion, spending lots of time, energy and money worthless - they should at leat do it with an outstanding sound quality. Amen to that.

QuoteCaptain Teague QuoteDorn all the recent concert releases have a terrible sound quality (San Jose 99, Miami 94, BA 1998 etc) No idea which sources they used. Even Totally Stripped, originally either recording or mastering done analogically (i don´t remember), compare the Paradiso 26.5. GIMME SHELTER or SFM with the original 1995 releases - what a lousy job on the new releases. That just ai

QuoteMonkeyMan2000 What else should they do? Release it on VHS in 2020? There's a lot of people who have never bought this show on bootleg and they want to buy it now officially. It is made clear that it's a SD Blu Ray. Personally, I think the picture quality is great. Well no, I'm just saying that DVD was certainly enough format-wise. And for the sound of it... a digital downlo

Unlike 'at the max', or 'ladies & gentlemen' the gig was filmed for a PPV TV quality 4:3 (super VGA at best) standard in 1989, which is totally comprehensible. What's unbelievable is to actually have the guts to make a Blu Ray out of it.

Quoteklomadag007 I saw yesterday the DVD from Japan Show of the Steel Wheels Deluxe and it seems to be just a VHS transfer to DVD. Just a little embarrassing Not to mention that they released Blu Rays of concerts with VHS quality (VL, Atlantic City, Bremen, Buenos Aires), for which a DVD release was already overkill.

Quoteshadooby My ears are the best test for me. That. Period. They should remix and remaster Voodoo Lounge Uncut, Bremen, Buenos Aires, and Atlantic City. I can't believe they released them like this.

Quoterebelhipi Quotefuwa How is the sound quality on CD 3? I would like to know so I can decide whether to purchase the deluxe edition. 2 conflicting posts so far. Its ok, quite boomy/reverb heavy, but nothing shocking. Id say quality is like a typical soundboard bootleg. .... Aaaand counting

Quoteshadooby Quoteironbelly Just got my superdeluxe. I must admit that Rare Reels were mastered by big fun of Bill Wyman. I would say - a bit too much bass. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Now I know I'm not losing it. Mine was so awful and distorted all to hell I sent it back to Amazon and got a replacement, I figured must be a defective cd, same freakin thing!!! I should've jus

It may meet compression and volume standards, but that doesn't make it right. The end result, to me, is a bootleg quality release. Same deal with Voodoo Lounge Uncut, Bremen and Buenos Aires. I agree that San José is very good tho, forgot about that one.

Well, it may be wrong for you. Certainly not for me. The last live official release from an old concert that I can recall, that sounds the way it should is Totally Stripped.

Quoteslowhand The Little Red Rooster mix on Flashpoint is very good, no doubt, to me, the difference is that Charlie and especially Chuck are more prominent in the mix compared to the new release. That doesn’t make the new mix bad, just different. For you to say the new mix sounds terrible is wrong, Charlie and Mick don’t sound bad and the mix isn’t muddy, you’re in the minority on this one.

I don't know really, but that's just how it is. Not the same PPV mix, the thing was in his archive.

What do you mean. All songs are there. Only it's divided in set 1 & set 2. If you want a really good sounding version of this concert, that's the one.

Quotejbwelda Was this a Bill Graham produced event? If not, how would Wolfies have an exclusive version of it and not the radio transmission as I thought all unofficial shows were sourced from? I thought everything in Wolfgang's vault was sourced from recordings made for posterity by the Graham organization. True? My Crystal Cat release of the show doesn't have all that much mid rang

Maybe I didn't make myself clear, I'm not comparing this to the whole Flashpoint album. What I'm saying is, there's a song in Flashpoint from this Atlantic City concert (Little Red Rooster). Aaaaand the version featured in Flashpoint has NO overdubs. All that I'm talking about is the way it is mixed and sounds. It's the same version, mixed differently. What
