Cat Power totally killed it with "One Too Many Mornings" last Friday in Tokyo. She had that classic Dylan vibe going on. I didn't get to hear "You Got the Silver," though.

According to the Hachinohe Police Station in Aomori Prefecture of Japan, a Japanese woman in her 50s found and followed an account claiming to be Mick Jagger on Facebook around December last year. She commented on the account, and in January of this year, Yvonne Meyer, an account claiming to be his manager, replied to her, and they began communicating via Facebook messenger. The fake man

His harpoon solo on Ella McDaniel's "Pills" is really something. Let's crank up the music, light a candle, and say a prayer and let's send this beautiful doll on his way. At Hanzomon Hotel Tokyo in 1975.

QuoteIrix In that case you could prefix a number before the album name, like: 01 - The Rolling Stones (UK), 02 - England's Newest Hit Makers (US) .... 30 - Blue + Lonesome, 31 - Hackney Diamonds. Or prefix the year of the release before the album name. In case of multiple releases in the same year, you could name it 2025_1, 2025_2 (or similar). Use different directories for Studio al

Even if I converted all physical sources at random to digital using "dBpoweramp" and stored them on a network-attached storage disk, they are automatically in alphabetical order. These days, I am using "Roon" like a caster walker, though.

I really like the song "Big Bayou" on Ronnie and Rod's solo album. I would love to hear them sing it together. It will be interesting to see how they sing the part about the Gulf of Mexico.

Quotetreaclefingers Fascinating. Great to get all this info in one spot, thanks Ironbelly, and Nankstone, didn't even know the jeans box was in existence. I have the 18771-9004-2 Let It Bleed, so I presume the rest of the set is also from your final series. The only CD I did not get was Hot Rocks (foolish me already "had" Hot Rocks on CD). All the sets had the hype sticker

Did you notice track No.51 ? It must be a secret track. I can only listen to it when I'm in wabi-sabi state of mind.

It's interesting and impressive. I remember Let It Bleed was voted Japan's best album of 1969, beating Abbey Road. I just noticed that Abbey sold 1,920,000 copies in Japan, while Let It Bleed sold 225,000. I'm still proud to be one of the 225,000.

Just a quick note to let you know that some download sites, like HD Tracks, Mora, and e-onkyo, had also used the upsampling technique, also known as "fake DSD." I'm not sure at the moment. I think some SACD disks, like the Mott The Hoople album from Vocalion Records, have used the same method too. I didn't notice any difference when I converted the 1988 CD version of &q

I've used KORG's AudioGate4 software (which is perfectly legal) to convert lots of CDs to DSD files and burn them to DVD disks. From what I remember, the sound quality depended on the quality of the original source. I was happy to get everything for free, except for the DVD disk.

On 3 November 1974, I purchased It's Only Rock'n Roll, but... I was really disappointed that the gatefold sleeve jacket was downgraded to a single folded jacket because of the oil crisis. However, as for contents, the first three songs blew me away completely. All in all, I'd been playing the album too much on my turntable to damage the needle. It's Only R & R was p

Morgan Fisher, one of the Mott, helped promote the screening in Japan in September. He said: I am now shocked to discover that Nicky Hopkins, who played the wonderful piano on "Jealous Guy", is not credited on the original LP cover of John Lennon's "Imagine". His piano plays the most important role on this song! Nicky's wonderful piano was a great and unknown

Quoteloog droog Does anyone else here remember how Martin Scorsese used "All The Way From Memphis" at the beginning of his film, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore? He even worked in a name-check of the band, as Ellen Burstyn complains about her son's choice of music. Tucson Arizona! Great movie. I also remember T.Rex on the soundtrack.

QuotePietro Mick Jones of the Clash was a big Mott fan. He was part of a group of fans called "Mott's Lot" that used to follow the band around England. If you listen closely to the vocal harmonies in Clash songs you can hear strains of Mott. Jones (along with Mick Ronson) produced Ian Hunter's 1981 album "Short Back 'n'Sides." "Crash Street Kids"
