I saw him with Bad Company 3X in the 70's. Also, on the David Gilmour solo tour in 84/85. I really got to see him close up. Amazing guitarist. Another sad loss this year.

I do not think comparing album sales from the earlier years a fair comparison with a current album release. There is too much streaming and digital transfer today to make a fair comparison. It would be interesting to know how many downloads there were for both the album and individual songs.

Well first of all I did not go looking for him. Second, I have proudly told the story since 1982 including when I worked Pink Floyd concerts in 1987. And so far, you are the only one to make such a negative comment. QuoteLondonLee Maybe you should read up on why Syd Barrett was an effective recluse and the opinions of Gilmour and Waters about those who tried to find him before proudl

I would certainly think if one of the shows was a broadcast they would release it. There are already bootlegs of the show. Maybe the tape was corrupted. And I agree there is so much in the vaults, just give us some of it. Make the loyal fans happy and make a few bucks as well.

You never know what you get when you visit a home of a former or current musician. In 1982 my friend Richard took me to the home Syd Barret was living in. I got out of the car, knocked on the door and he actually answered. I told him I thought he was a genius and asked for his autograph. He signed a piece of paper "Barrett" which I still have in my safe deposit box. It is one

From what I have read the only thing we really know is that they were in the studio and have 13 songs they are happy with. The rest is all dreams, hopes and speculation. quote=jp.M] Stevie Winwood or Stevie Wonder on THE new album ??

I just read through the articles from Deltics. It is clear that they played Wild Horses. And "take me down little Susie" is obviously Dead Flowers. Still digging to find out about CYHMK. I'll read a bit of Bill's book to see if he says anything about the concerts if anything. QuoteRank Stranger Here's some press clips from March 71 ( thanks Deltics ):

[ I cannot answer why the disc skips. There are no bumps dents or dings. All my CD's and albums are well cared for. It is the only CD I have the does it. I am not interested in buying cheap version. Most of the CD's I have been purchased in the 1980's so I am sure they are worn out. I still have a Japanese vinyl version I listen to. It has a poster inside that I have never seen elsewhere. So, to contradict you I will purchase the new release with the additional songs as a replacement. Quoteironbelly Quotegeorgemcdonnell31

I think that would be a bit premature. The last thread was endless, and BV shut it down because of all the off topics on it QuotePaintMonkeyManBlack Time for a 2025 show/tour topic?

Spike, Chris is my buddy of over 40 years. He works for Ticketmaster and probably had promo or comped tickets. I went to the show in DC and can understand his point of view. The family sitting next to us left the show because of all the political views. quote=spikenyc] QuoteChristopher I went to several of his shows on this tour. Dreadful. Roger Waters - 'This Is

I am sure there are plenty of songs they can polish up and release. None of us really know all the unfinished tracks. Ironically my B&B CD is starting to have skips in it so I will be buying the new disc regardless. And I agree they should give us an unreleased show from this tour. I would really like Knebworth where they gave us some older gems. We know there are recordings, and I be

I was reading on Wikipedia about this tour. It says there is a soundboard recording of the Paris show. Do we have a copy of this someone can share? No live recordings of the tour have been officially released; there is only one known soundboard recording from Paris Maybe this will come out of the vaults sometime. We can hope.

I will link this song with the extended songs thread. It has the best outro live and some of the jams at the end are the best jams they have. Look at the end of Bussels. They were at the peak of their golden years.

I completely agree. Trying to compare things from different era and of course their ages is not a fair comparison. We should be happy with whatever they give us. They have given us so much from almost every tour since Brian left and many are still unhappy. The only way to make everyone happy would be to release every show from every tour so everyone will have their favorite show from what

I really miss the posts from my buddy Chris. He has been to almost every show since 1981. I think he missed a few when there were deaths in the family. He wrote very fair reviews and the way he wrote them was clear and fair minded. Once the criticism started, he bailed out and rarely comes back. Since 2012 every concert I have been to he got me pit tickets at face value. Of all peop

I don't think I will be following many bands once the Stones are done. Most of the newer music is unappealing to me.

I too have enjoyed many of the posts you have made Professor. I do not think there will be as many followers on the new IORR. Many have left the site due to the criticism and others have lost interest over the years as we got older, had kids, ailments, etc. and may of the ones my age have passed away. With no tour announcement on the horizon the number of us actually making posts has drop

I wasn't dissing the Brian years. I think ABCKO has released anything they can find from that ERA. There was probably only a limited amount of material which was of quality they were able to release. Most of the better sounding material it seems were from TV shows. Quotegeorgemcdonnell314 I too would like an official release of every concert from 1969 up to 1982. What's wrong with th

I was at both of the shows as well. I think we were all shocked at how deep they dug into their catalogue. They pulled out songs none of us would ever have expected. In fact, all of the theatre shows which I saw on this leg of the tour all have unique set lists including Olympia & Brixton.

I am happy with whatever new stuff this give us. I am happy with anything from the vaults. I am happy with any remasters. We should all be happy for anything we get nowadays instead of bickering over things. I too would like an official release of every concert from 1969 up to 1982.
