I have seen John a couple of times over the years. He does put on a good show from what I have seen. I can imagine what they have to go through on stage. Watching fights break out, people needing medical attention, items tossed at them, and I think the most bothersome is all the cell phone flashes. To me at least nothing is worse than Axl Rose telling fans to hit the security guards or Ro

He said the same thing at the concert I went to but I am certain he said it was seeing the Stones that inspired them to start a band. QuoteFeelslikeaGhost I went to a Roger Waters Concert and he told a story about how him and Syd went and saw the Stones back in the 60s, he said it was one of the best nights of his life

I am glad I am not the only one that feels this way. Some of the later releases are definitely lacking. QuoteSpud Fingers crossed that whoever engineers the release remembers that this is a guitar band. You'd be forgiven for thinking that some of the "modern era" vaults releases were "The Chuck Leavell & Daryll Jones Band"

I think they will open with The Last Time and finish with Sweet Sounds of Heaven. QuoteJuniorjackflash Would be great but it won’t happen because, dollar for doughnuts, Mick will want to play guitar on it as he wrote the riff, and he likes to come out prancing without a guitar - so I personally think he won’t. Shame as I think if he let Keith do it; it would indeed be a terrific and fresh

I have this 8-track tape just for this solo. I have really wonder why they did not somehow give it to us on the Animals remasters. QuoteNashvilleBlues I'm sure many are aware of the Animals 8 Track Pigs on the Wing solo that loops the end of the 8 track (POTW 2) with the beginning (POTW 1). Here it is!

They have obviously rehearsed several of the new songs which they played at Rackett so it will mostly be refreshing those songs. I do not think they will do a club gig this time, but they may surprise us. Also, I think they will change a few songs this tour and give us a few fresh songs.

I feel the same way about the post Wyman releases. Say what you want about Darryl but it doesn't have the same feel. I also think their album sound has lost a bit as well. I too listened to El Mocambo several times and Hackney Diamonds on vinyl is great. Better than the CD sound. I was at Miami 94, Atlantic City 89, St. Louis 97 so those would be the ones I watch. Four Flicks and A B

This is very sad. I knew Jim Beard. I still have an old clipboard that was his but I don't know how I got it.

I used to buy a shirt at every show I went to. Recently some of them have really sucked. So now I just buy a tour shirt. The quality of the merchandise has really gone down hill.

See the Yahoo article here: A collection of personal photographs revealing life on tour with the Rolling Stones will go on display after the revelation of a family secret led to their discovery. The intimate pictures of the band had been gathering dust in a south London loft for decades before being discovered by the grandsons of Tony Sanchez, the Rolling Stones’ close friend and fixer. Ni

So, I have both the green vinyl and the cd. I have listened to them both one after the other. I prefer the vinyl. The CD sounds like there is an emptiness some places and others it sounds like the CD is trying to jump out of the player. Like it is angry.

Sad they didn't release the rest of the footage. Satisfaction on the YAYA's deluxe is different than the version on the Gimmie Shelter movie. There is obviously more stuff out there. Quotegeorgemcdonnell314 Interesting that you posted this. I just watched the Gimmie Shelter movie for the first time in ages. I just wonder why they did not release more of the MSG video. They had a gre

One thing we all have in common here. We can certainly almost all relate to the title of the songs in one way or another. Whether we like the song or not.

Interesting that you posted this. I just watched the Gimmie Shelter movie for the first time in ages. I just wonder why they did not release more of the MSG video. They had a great opportunity to release it with the YaYa's remaster. They also show clips at Muscle Shoals Studios. I'd love to see the rest of what is available. Now that I have watched the movie again, I just want

I agree with what you say but when I bought them in the 80's there was nothing vinyl that sounded like them. QuoteSpud Mobile Fidelity half speed masters... Now there's topic in itself. Wonderfully pressed records, dead quiet top notch RCA vinyl. beautiful sweet top end... ...but half the time they flush the baby out with the bathwater by engineering all the Rock N Rol

She definitely got what she wanted on Flashpoint. Paint it Black and her voice copied to the album. Quotetreaclefingers QuoteGasLightStreet Quotebobo QuoteStonesTod QuoteMunichhilton QuoteTitle5Take1 I know PAINT IT, BLACK isn't on .Ya Ya's, but does anyone know if at the actual concert they played that song? Just out of idle curiosity, if anyone knows that kind of trivia regardin

I agree some of the more recent stages have become tiring. Hopefully a new stage is in the works. I am sure someone from their camp reads stuff on here. Let's hope they are listening.

I don't think they can get worse than the last Detroit shirt. They played at Ford Field and the shirt had a Dodge car on it. When I was at the merchandise tent, we were wondering what they were thinking. Quoteclapton71 I thnk this tours shirts are gonna be trash.

So looked through this thread and thought of something. Weren't 8 tracks around at this time? Maybe there was a longer version to fill in the space. It was common that tracks were shuffled around, and some songs were longer to fill in the time. Not sure if this is the case here but it may be a thought. I think there are other songs that are longer on 8 track than the album.

It's one of the only CD's I have removed, listened to another CD, and then listened to again. I'd say we are lucky to have this. It sure beats ABB and B2B although there are a few good tracks on each or those albums.

I have about a dozen shirts from this tour, some are bootlegs, but I never saw any of the retro shirts. I probably would have bought one. At that time there were not all the options for shirts like there are now.

I would like to see them play some of what I call "tour songs". Finger Print File, Lies, Let Me Go, Sparks Will Fly, Out of Tears, Terrifying, Flip the Switch. I guess I am just hoping they play some different songs. If You Can't Rock Me would be one I'd like to see again.

This track got approval from the 11 year old bossy niece of mine so I'll say it's a good track. Catchy lyrics to say the least. Good riff to start. I don't think this one will make the set list.

I have heard they argued at every concert. I am not a fan. Quotedimtim Who can forget Guns and Roses at LA Coliseum around 1990 when they argued the whole show and led to the band breaking up at the time I believe. Seen many opening acts over the many shows I have seen some great like The Meters, J. Geils, Santana in the rain in San Diego, Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, etc.

I think this song has a good groove to it. More importantly, at some point in our life. we have all felt like the whole wide world is against us. And I agree with Treacle:This song and it's place on side one make it the best Stones album side since side 2, Tattoo You. The strength of those 5 great songs on Tattoo You was that while different sounding they all evoked a great and cons

Didn't they tell us they would not return to Santa Clara after the show when the banned fireworks at the last minute? I remember hearing this somewhere. Probably at the concert in 2019. From Shidobee on Facebook: Houston, New Orleans, Philly, Chicago, Santa Clara So far. . .
