Not when your own grandfather at age 17 went to Gallipoli in wwi with black hair & returned with it snow white - & never talked about it again. But whatever - we're talking about the good that happened post-national service in the uk - glad it stopped.

QuoteTurner68 QuoteHis Majesty Quoteduke richardson here is the first Keith Rolling Stone cover. from 1971 ..? great interview too, with Robert Greenfield. here's the interview. pretty long.. So many books used a large % of that interview for their content. Funny cos there are so many exaggerations etc in it. He lived at Courtfield Road for 2 years? Not even Brian live

Thinking about the Paul song written about Mo Starkey when she passed on - 'Sleep little willow.....' A devoted mother to Julian - With Julian being an equally devoted son. Sad news.

Just reread Bill German's book. Does anyone know what he's doing now - saw his website but it was mainly promoting the book. Just hope he's happy now, plus whether how much fallout there was from the book.....His chapter on Freddy Sessler was brilliant....

QuoteStoner72 I'm very enthusiastic about Australian (and New Zealand) bands. I'd like to add one more I don't believe I saw mentioned: Died Pretty. 'Doughboy Hollow' still kicks my behind. Should have added them - love DC - and they were one band where you'd always see the members in the street. Unless I misidentified, bought wine from Brett in a bottle shop.

Quoteminorbyrd QuoteStoner72 I think you mean a shallow pool. (On the other hand, it's a fitting display of your ignorance.) And what's your issue? Apologies - thought your comment was directed at me - it's been a long time since I've posted & I tend to have my guard up when I do

She was great, as was the whole band in the 80s. Remember seeing them at all-ages gigs as a teenager. The boys were too scared to shout out anything! But great band - Chrissie plus Mark on guitar couldn't be beat....

I can't be bothered digging out the booked I have about the Band to see where they formed - they may have been recruited by Ronnie Hawkins in Canada - but I'm giving them a mention anyway. And yes, place of recording means zilch, thanks Treacle!

Yes - known as The Angels here, Angel City overseas. Another great band who unfortunately have splintered into two (?) bands due to issues. The lead singer, Doc Neeson is currently in poor health unfortunately.

Hurray! I saw You Am I when they were putting out eps & I'm still hooked. The rest of the world's loss. If I said who I liked & who I've seen, it would be too long a list. But for a 41 year old I consider myself lucky being in oz. Exposed to whatever was happening overseas via countdown & sounds, plus had our own great bands/solo artists...... Cold Chisel - they&

Beach Boys Byrds Doors Wilco Flying Burrito Bros ( for 1 album) The Band would be there too - even if only Levon was born in the US, they were based there while recording as far as I know.

They can do what they want now. If they record more albums - great, same if they tour. I can't see them due to lack of funds, but if they put out an album I'll buy it (have no iPod) & anything from the vaults is a big bonus. But it's up to them.

May be inappropriate on this forum, but just want to say that if there's anyone out there who's feeling bad & needs help to please talk to a doctor, friend, relative, helpline - Whatever's available in your area. It may help. I'm no counsellor or do-gooder, but it's been a sad day for IORR members

Apologies if I expressed any speculation about the relationship between MJ & L'Wren - It was not my intention & never will be. Testify, my sympathies about your sister. I'm battling my own demons - pills, Dr,s appointments etc - so understand the illnesses involved. It's hard work & know that I can never expect people to understand what I'm thinking. So am always s

I've heard some background from what they'd call 'a source' about some things discussed - But I'd just rather say sorry to L'Wren's friends & family. Feel free to postpone the oz tour guys......wait until the media frenzy dies down & Mick can get some time out somewhere quiet. RIP - Sometimes life is too fast, too sad, too much.

After struggling with colleagues who had free education, travelled then straight back to a job etc....... I decided that I was generalizing & I should wait another 20 years before judging. We all have to keep a roof over our heads & everyone has their own issues to deal with. Many most likely suffered from that era, like all eras. And that's my 1 cent's worth. Will disappea

Quoteseitan Funny - when this came out, lot of people were complaing and moaning about it - and now, most people seem to like it. I actually like the Exile On Main Street bonus tracks too. I hope they would make another "Tattoo You" - style album with unreleased tracks, but whatever they do, I'm Ok with it. They have nothing left to prove. Right with you there - Don't quit

Main thing for myself is that they perform the songs without guests...... Wouldn't mind hearing: Happy (with Mick & Keith together like 72) Around & Around Mercy Mercy Salt Of The Earth You Got The Silver No Expectations Ruby Tuesday Shine A Light Memory Motel If I continued, the list would get way too long!
