QuoteJDSAM1994 I think there's a lot of ppl here who need to revisit this thread when they turn 82, and perhaps have a change of tone. I have been thinking this very point so much reading all this thread syrel

Thank you Antoine. Hopefully people on the board will listen to what you are saying - but I have my doubts. Sad days indeed. syrel

I wondered whether the NA kick off times meant that the WC would really "clash" with gig times in Europe (go to the gig, then just get ready to watch the match...). However, if we assume they are scheduling around it, then 13 (between QF and SF) and 17 July (3 day gap between shows) seem like safe bets, if the tour is still going. Also, the England games are 17/23/27 June, with a lik

QuoteStoneswolf might be interesting for people planning multiple shows: Until December 17th, there is a 25% discount on Interrail travel passes for Europe. It is fully refundable when booked at . (So in case tour is not happening you get a refund. That's what I did for this year and got s refund when the tour was off) Thanks very much for this, I was mulling over whether interrail made se

There's not two shows rumoured, it's one show either the 15th or 16th June. They'd never play back to back nights these days. syrel

Quotephd27 Just read on a daily French newspapers that Stade de France announced that already 18 concerts are scheduled for 2026. Which means that no more events can be planned. In other words we cannot expect the Stones to perform there. Me personally I anticipate a Défense Arena show. Yet only 17 are listed on SDF's website...

QuoteStonesBuenosAires This happened last year too: the other bands book stadiums first and announce their shows earlier than the stones This initially complicates the Stones' schedule for finding stadiums and cities for the tour Just because dates/tours aren't announced doesn't mean venues haven't been booked...

Quotephd27 Zegut is a highly reliable source. Nevertheless I still doubt this band can fill up the Stade de France. The fan base has shrinked drastically for 2 decades. You're kidding right? Tell me you're kidding...

Quotethecitadel I understand that the Stones have decided to self-insure for recent tours. That would explain why in the US last year they carried on even when Keith and then Mick were clearly suffering from illnesses. It also explains why there are more, longer gaps, in touring schedule - the extra cost of keeping the whole touring team on the road is clearly assessed to be less than the cos

"A performer’s age has a material impact on what it costs to buy so-called “non-appearance” cover, a category of insurance that guarantees their fee if they can’t do a show due to illness or injury. The numbers are stark, according to insurance insiders. A young-ish DJ – a genre of musician usually cheap to insure as they don’t sing – might be charged 1.5 per cent of their promised fee by an

Generally interesting - but a very interesting Stones snippet: "One of the brokers even heard that the mighty Stones chose not to take out full non-appearance insurance on their most recent tour. “There was a market rumour that the last time they just opted not to go with insurance because it just didn’t make sense. And Jagger is a very financially astute man,” he says. A Stones spokesm

When I was a student, one of my professors had been at LSE with Mick in the early 60s. He offered for his band to play at her 21st birthday party, to which she apparently replied "I do not want you and your spotty little friends playing at my party, thank you!". syrel (this conversation was prompted by me wearing my "who the f*** is Mick Jagger?" Tshirt to class...)

QuoteJeter1984 The challeneges the Stones face setting up tours are quite extensive -Core members must be healthy -Guaranteed money paid up front -Insuarance sign off (including multiple doctors traveling with band) -14 to 20 shows with very specific rest time in between (this is the big one which is very hard in Europe) -Venue availability that coincides with above point -All of the abov

You're right, they band their shipping costs. Countries next Germany aren't too bad, but UK has always been very expensive (and was pre-brexit, so that's not the cause). syrel

Quotehockenheim95 Not all tickets will go on sale through Ticketmaster though. Especially Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Spain will mostly be sold through the Eventim group. There you have the option for paper tickets and in Germany maybe even no option for mobile ones. Good point. Eventim's postage charges for outside Germany (and maybe Switzerland?) are astronomical though - 30-40 Eur

Quoteschwonek OK. So I understand that the sound is not that good in the Arena. But I want to go so - I guess front of stage is same sound anywhere right? Or are there places within the Arena that are OK soundwise? Sound was fine in the pit in 2022. The stadium is pretty echo-y, but you don't really notice it at the front.
