Around 20 years ago I used to buy dvds off a French bootlegger called Jean-Pascal Rappinni. A really nice guy, but I haven’t heard from him in a long time. I hope he’s good. He even had a website with short clips of his dvds. I remember one from the Netherlands in 2003, that was audience shot low from the side. What was cool about it was that you could see a lot of the audience and all of the lo

I have this project going where I'm filling my iPod. I more or less have all the official released albums, so I want to put some great bootlegs on it too. Stones only. So far I've put the Steel Wheels Sessions on it along with The Unreleased Decca Live Album. What else should I put on it? I'd like some great concerts and tons of outtakes. I'm thinking Glasgow 2006 (the radio b

That guitar Woody is using…. What is it? I mean it’s obviously a Gibson, but that extremely wide binding looks strange. Anyone know?

I hope it is t over! I was fired from my job after 18 years, but I’ll be financially compensated. Finally I’m in a position where I could bring my wife and kids to a Stone’s show… And then it’s off. I hope they’re all well. That’s really all that counts.

QuoteProfessorWolf you know what would be neat is if someone who has the photoshop skill could de-thermolize the cover and recrate it with similar shots of the stones (if it hasn't already been done before that is) Then it’s just the Let It Be cover

Love it, though it’s too long. The standard for a RS album should be 10 songs. Cut some of the fillers for a kick ass album. Same goes for SW, VL and ABB.

Quotepowerage78 The fact that the Stones' last real worldwide hit, SMU, dates back to 1981, doesn't necessarily rhyme with renewal of fan spirit ! I think that’s got way more to do with price gouging of concerts.

QuoteEggersBand Thanks for the overall good stories and especially our talks about the Horsens concert. ( it was a Dual match between another city (Herning) for a Long time- but Horsens won the battle. And the Horsens show was O’Neill of Stones finest. 80000 People and a fine setlist. What talk about Horsens? I have not read it, and otherwise know a lot about it.0 (Google Translate From Dani

Some old latter day favorites are Las Vegas 99, Roseland Ballroom 02, Vredenburg 03, Vienna 06, the GRRR TV concert is also great. Also there’s a few tv specials that should be mentioned…. Like MTV Live At The 10 Spot from the late 90s.

AN IRISH ROSE I saw an Irish rose shooting from the ground He’s joined the dearly departed Gone from here to join Stoned Mary Grief stricken, left heavy-hearted His looming presence casts long shadows He’s joined the dearly departed He lives inside us, our time too finite Lives in

QuoteTopi QuotePaintMonkeyManBlack What was the last time they played She's so Cold and Monkey Man? Madrid 2007 comes to mind. A setlist with those 2 songs can't be wrong. Correct, Madrid 2007 was the last time. Before that, Lyon on the same tour 10 days prior. They played it in Roskilde in 2014.

Quotewaterrats Ronnie's solo spot on YCAGWYW - I think he could play a little bit more melodious on there - maybe he should get more time at that part ... Within the realm of The Rolling Stones, it’s a curse and a blessing. On one hand the short solos are to the point, and it never ends in too much wankery like most bands do. On the other hand none of the guitarists get to build up a solo

Nobody could replace Charlie, and Steve knows it. So he does the only thing he could do: Stay true to his own style, and honouring CW at every turn. He IS different sure, but he is also the one man CW pointed out. And I do think he and Darryl have had moments where they lock in a killer groove. Again, it’s not CW and BW, but it’s something else. I think Steve is great, and I’m happy for him.

Many of the longer-standing posters on here will remember her for enriching this board with her wit and wisdom and with her erudition as the Department of Historical Accuracy on all things Rolling Stones, the band she always let us know that

QuoteDoxa Quotetreaclefingers ..and also surprisingly Bite Me Head Off, which I just saw as a bit of a throwaway rocker in the first place but it is such a great performance. Sort of in the tradition of a song like She's So Cold, which on paper isn't anything special but the performance takes it to a completely other level, so much so that they can't do it in concert and do
