Opened my eagerly awaited Goats Head Soup Super de Luxe version from the postman today with the 3 CDs, a Blu-Ray Disc, book and posters. All is great, delighted with it, especially the Brussels Affair CD to finally get an official version rather than rely on a couple of bootlegs I have owned for many years. I have just one niggle. The Spine of the box set just states 'the Rolling Stones'

So, looking at the 6 Disc version, I already have the Stones in Tokyo 1990 CDs and DVD issued as a Vaults version back in 2012. What is the difference with the new Tokyo 1990 disc on the Steel Wheels package? Are there extra songs? Does anybody know?

Watching Sweet Summer Sun DVD on my TV this morning. Fantastic concert. I was there at Hyde Park, London on Saturday 13th July 2013. I have tried over the years to pin down which songs were from the 13th July show and which were from the previous weekend on Saturday 6th July. It is difficult and I am still not sure of the sequence, however. I wonder, is there a definitive list anywhere or can an

I have listened to this track several times and overall, I don't like it. It starts off with a promising instrumental groove, however Mick's vocals just seem to me to be out of step, almost unrelated to this groove and pitched too high. Everything in musical taste is, of course, subjective, but without all Stones present on this recording, I can't in all honesty say this track inte

Wondering if Peter Green himself gets a cut of the box office sales for this concert and the forthcoming deluxe £150 box set being flogged by Mick Fleetwood?

Thanks for that interesting information, Bjornulf. I have been to Norway three times in my naval career (UK, Royal Navy) and loved it. I was once in the Arctic doing winter training with a naval air squadron and experienced real cold weather, but saw the Northern Lights and perpetual darkness in the day, something I have never forgotten. Home for Christmas, then back to a small place called Trett

I am having trouble trying to find out what the Stones called the two inflatable dolls they used to have onstage in the Steel Wheels era. I have an idea one was called 'Brenda' but not sure. Anyone know?

Emotional Rescue was performed brilliantly at Hyde Park, 13th July 2013. Jagger has not lost his ability to reach those high falsetto notes and I hope to see it performed on this tour.

Nice idea to play the Acropolis, Athens. Pink Floyd played the Ampitheatre in Pompeii many years ago but it was not for an audience, of course, only for a film, and there are many other instances of bands playing historic sites.. The Stones played the Circus Maximus in Rome on the 2014 On Fire Tour so there is a precedent, although audience numbers at the Acropolis woudl be much, much lower (15

A very interesting feature which I read with interest. When all is said and done, I still miss Bill from the Stones line-up and still think that one day he will walk out on stage at the beginning of a show and play to the end. Then I wake up! Bill remains the best bass player the Stones ever had and he is there on all the classic tracks, something Daryl Jones for all his technical ability will ne

He looks cool for a 71 year old. Who really cares what he wears as long as he is up for touring? Would also be nice if he was up for songwriting and producing a new Stones album, it's been a long time since 'A Bigger Bang'.

1. Stones album - torn between Exile and Ya Yas......this is so hard! It would have to be Ya Yas, all great tracks but there is one I could not live without: Little Queenie and the fabulous licks pulled out by Keef on that one - never get tired of hearing it. 2. Any album: The Velvet Underground and Nico (with the Andy Warhol banana cover) 3. If contemplating actually ending my life, it

I am mildly irritated to say the least regarding all the comments here about forthcoming ticket sale announcements and frustration at having to wait several more days to hear anything positive about a tour of the USA.A tour of South America is also on the cards, it seems. Seems like the Stones are ignoring the UK again, after they did a huge European tour in 2014 plus Japan, the Gulf, Austra

I love Stray Cat Blues, it's always been in my Top Ten of Stones tracks. The whole Beggars Banquet album was a much needed antidote to the almost unmitigated dross of the previous year's 'Satanic Majesties' album, notable only for one track, 2,000 Light Years from Home, in my opinion. Stray Cat Blues is the Stones at their raunchy blues and rock-based best, firing on all c

Stadiums or no stadiums, I'm a bit miffed that the Stones are not considering the UK for a few gigs this year, seeing as they went all around Europe and did not touch UK shores once in 2014. I saw them at Hyde Park on 13th July 2013 and looks like it's only USA, Canada and South America in 2015. I do hope they end their stage career in London, where it all started, in 2016, and British

Thanks for posting the Auckland Vid. Not seen that one before as there is a huge amount of material now circulating after the 2014 on Fire Tour, including my 6 acquired bootlegs...ahem.... I thought Taylor was pretty good here and did not get the feeling he was swamping or subtracting from the others. I'm just happy to see him back in action with the Stones on stage. Caught him at Hyde P

I am listening to The Rolling Stones 'Hyde Park Legend 1969', a double CD (c) Goldplate Ltd I bought on eBay and which arrived from Japan today. It's the complete Hyde Park concert with every song performed and Mick's eulogy to Brian Jones. Plus a TV News report, a 'Stones in the Park' Radio Special in 6 parts and two tracks performed on the David Frost TV show

Yes, I agree. I bought Dirty Work on vinyl and have maybe played it 3 times, ditto the CD which I bought just to put it in my Stones CD library. The Stones were going through the motions, making an album because of record company commitments and Mick and Keith were not hitting it off at all. So glad they all saw sense in the end and hung on in there to come back with Steel Wheels and the continu

I agree about the 02, a most uncomfortable venue - crammed into a seat high up for £125 is not my idea of a good time concert, as I found on 26 August 2007, last night of the Bigger Band tour. With Hyde Park, last year, standing, you could move around and feel much freer and the acoustics were perfect. I'd prefer that venue to Wembley any day. There's something about a park with trees

I'm so envious! I want to be there but I'm stuck in England still waiting for the Stones to come back, one year on from Hyde Park. Will they/won't they? If you're in Rome, have a great time. It's only rock and roll but we like it!
