Quotewinos I don't understand why the Stones are re-releasing the version of Shame.Shame, shame as they had a version of it for the Tattoo You deluxe set. Surely there's other out takes they could've included: Munich hiton or others thye could've dug out....laziness perhaps? And $440 aussie pesos for the boxed set - who are they kidding??? And I sure hope you are kiddi

QuotePalace Revolution 2000 I got to ask: was his intention to mix every bit of raw feel, and life out of that song? Thanks to Irix for posting. Ah, the usual: “It doesn’t sound like my original copy”! Do you know what the purpose is with a remix? That’s right, to give an alternative. Stick with your original, then…

Quotegotdablouse Listening to it right now…not sure why they bothered apart from possibly trying to generate “interest” in using the “flavor of the month” remixer who did indeed miss the “hot” at 2’51” ! HTF is this possible in this day and age ?! What a douchebag comment from a nobody! Steven Wilson is not a ‘flavour of the month’ remixer. He is an aknowledged producer & musician. That you

Quotefrankotero Quotetreaclefingers Analog recordings from the true (new) digital masters! Yes, certainly a good possibility. Many years later (and several variations) there might be the real real thing. That's why I basically gave up trying to buy everything a while back. I did get the Out Of Our Heads RSD vinyl. At least I think it's the same when I compared the original Decca to t

Quotefrankotero I think the easiest answer is they're all taken from the same source, same audio quality. However, a lot of fans like LPs. This isn’t exactly true. Several of the tape-transfers of individual songs that appeared in Mono on the 2002 masters, are in some cases from different sources or tapes. Plus the fact that many tracks also makes their Mono debut on the boxed set, whereas

No problem for me that Johnny thinks that. I have always loved the guy speaks his mind. What you see is what you get. And I know he actually likes The Stones. The guy is well-spoken and there is no secret agenda. Respect.

Quotesaltoftheearth QuoteProfessorWolf QuoteGlimmerest I double checked and it seems this was the tour when Bill found out about the daughter, but the previous years tour was when the fathering happened. Always weirds me out that he felt the need to include this incident in his autobiography, but seemingly never bothered to look for them. in retrospect there's a lot of weird details in

What's the difference to the other two versions - a totally different (3rd) take or just mixing/editing differences? Sorry about the late reply. I have transferred the cassette version now. Here it is: Isn't that just the regular l

Nothing wrong with it. As long as they play the music. When they put on wigs and fake-accents, I turn around.

They made that record long just because they could. In my opinion Side 2 drags after Out Of Time. I Am Waiting is good, but they should have put on Ride On Baby and Sittin On A Fence on last, instead of It’s Not Easy, Take It Or Leave It, Think and What To Do. I don’t think either of them should have made the cut.

QuoteSockers56 The Grammy's will be on this evening from 8:00-11:30 pm. Does anyone know about when in the broadcast, the "Best Rock Album"will be announced? I know they won already but would like to see the award when it's televised. I don’t know. I grabbed the live event on Youtube. If you use the marker, The Stones thing appears at around “-1:30” (what’s left of the show

I think it’s a fine line-up. Stones will probably donate money. They don’t have to perform and they are out of shape right now.

I have hated the film and the album from practically the first time I heard it/saw it. They play like crap. I like All Down The Line, but compared to the freight train it was on the Like A Rolling Stone cd-single / Totally Stripped concerts, it pales. Then there is fine versions of Just My Imagination and Some Girls. The version of Undercover Of The Night was really great, but then it was only av

There is absolutely not one single reason to remix this album. It sounds sharp, focused and dynamic. The best recorded Stones album by a long mile. Even a remaster would possibly don’t do it justice. Use the CBS or Virgin digital master. And the analogue tape for the vinyl.

Besides the already mentioned, it’s also on the 2005 compilation Rarities 1971-2003. But the liner-notes are wrong in stating it’s from No Security, which it isn’t even on in the regular edition, though there is a version included on the Japanese version, but that one is a totally different recording.

Quotetreaclefingers Quotehockenheim95 QuoteJ-J-Flash Still loving the new album, my biggest complaint is them not playing more of it live. If you look back at new albums this one has the least amount of new songs played live. Even ABB they played more songs from. The Hackney Diamonds Tour is not over. After 20 shows they did play less new songs on the ABB tour than they did on the HD tour. They

I find it amusing to watch how fans always crawes and demands new releases, only to spin it maybe a few times and file it away. It’s funny as well, to watch how fans always thinks new product is aimed at them and not just let it pass by. It’s a free world and nobody forces to buy anything.
